Exclamation Bodies

http://www.bodiesbudapest.hu/en/
Have you heard of it? If yes what do you think about it? Did you see it?
Personally I had a chance to chek this exhibition because it was in Budapest. It was really interesting but I couldn't believe those figures were really a human being but when I saw the skin completely tore of the body I really had a feeling "it's real skin". When I was thinking about it I thought that those whom made these figures ect are doctors who are madly in love with their job. If I were one of those who made these I would have faint, they must have strong nerves... And how did they got a permission to make such an exhibition, does the "bodies" family know where are there beloved one's corpses? It's kinda creepy for me.

So they preserved bodies that were skinned and then put into various positions?? Did the previous owners of the bodies give permission for the mutilation of their bodies??

As interesting as it is I prefer seeing things like that in a book, as I have already done so years ago. I am not liking the idea that those bodies are used like that. Granted they were sentenced to death but instead of laying them to rest for having their lives taken their bodies get solidified into random human postures for all the world to gap gasp and gaw at. Totally out of my book this one is. That place should be burned to the ground and the creators cremated in the fire.

I heard something like this before... I myself am not too fond of the idea.

The bodies are actually voluntarily donated to science. This exhibit came through here a long while back and I regret that I didn't get to see it. Though a little gruesome it's a rather fascinating look at our anatomy and what makes up us. A piece of the exhibit had people and a few other animals deli sliced into sections so you could see the body through and through.

Ive seen this exhibition before years ago..back in Dec '05...In Ontario, Canada (the only time Ive been there)
Ironically enough that was during school ..and I happened to miss the topic of 'locomotion' in biology class...so instead of reading in the book I got to see corpses....sweet..

It was under the name "Body Worlds" and the bodies...as analog suggested were donated to science...
I found it to be amazing...

They had a couple pieces you were allowed to touch...it felt sorta waxy to me...
They had some that made you think...such as some which were children...some of fetuses....(made on think because these people died of natural circumstances)

Then they had interesting ones of people doing thinks like skate boarding...tennis....archery...walking even..

Some that in their own regard were...art

Some were just pieces or organs...one example being lungs of a normal person...one of a smoker...and one of a coal miner...last one: Wow...

And these 2 longitudinal cross-sections of people..one normal one obese...Hah!...that was interesting...

It was very educational ....
They had kids in there who were on a field trip from schools..or something

Do I think the guy who does these all day may have had a very interesting childhood?
-Yes..but as for the actual act of doing this.....
I see no reason why not to do it if they donate their bodies.
Its quite nice..I even bought a poster and a couple postcards which I now have in my room..(post cards on door front and then first thing in front of the door entering the room is the poster)

Pictures from net:
Postcard one (but with different background)

Postcard two:
I dont know if I should post or not because Im not sure if its considered nudity if they have no skin on them at the time..>.>...
Basically its a man walking towards you with his skin held over one shoulder like a coat...
Think I can post it?

The poster

Also stuck on the inside of door is a handout with this pic

My advice: See it if you can and if you dont have a weak stomach and dont laugh every time you see someone naked (then again with no skin on does it make them more naked than usual?)

the postcard was pretty cool. I didn't know that there were animals in the exhibit too. I hope it comes back one day.
