Welcome to the AnimeFuel Community Forums, I'm the owner of this website Demon fox and lucky for you I'm not here to use my ninja skills on yah, plenty of time for that later I assure you. Instead I'll be telling you a little about this place.
As you should be able to tell by now you are not registered with us as of yet and probably need a good reason to do so. Between you and I we both know you're a lazy bastard and so if you don't even want to listen to the rest of my introduction speech you may as well just go register.
Otherwise here's what you can do on our forums once you've registered. When you register you will be able to chit chat in our forums, entertain yourself with games and share videos with other members. The forums allows you to get access to free downloads shared by members, fast and direct support with video problems from members and staff and make anime requests which are priortized above anyone else's.
There are many more things you can do but our aim is to bring together a community of video fans where you can feel comfortable and make lots of friends around the world. God knows you need them.
So get your butt over to the registration page and join my I mean OUR community. Oh and one more thing watch out for a crazy guy with a gun he's wandering around somewhere in these pages and you'll probably see him if you become really slack with the forum.
This message will self destruct once registration is completed.

Ok, I just had an idea, and like most ideas in the world by the time you've thought of it there's a good chance it's already been done. So, I suppose this is half me spouting an idea for gaming and the other half seeing if there's already a game like this of which I'm not aware and will be lovingly pointed in the right direction toward playing.
The thought came that in FF XII, they play around with randomization, making certain enemies have a certain chance of appearing, and dropping stuff and blahblahblah. Well What I thought was that in those spooky, creepy ass games like resident evil, silent hill, and the like, they lose replay value when you know where the monsters are. What if the monster placement was randomized? making every corner, regardless of playthrough count, a potential pant sh*tter???!!! Is there a game that has anything like this? I haven't played a creep out game in a while, so I wouldn't really know. I would however be down to grab one if it was good and scared by balls back to their pre-pubescent state time and time again.

You mean a cross between Diablo's real time battles and interchangable mapping/foes, with the style of most stradegy based RPGs

I dunno if there's one or not, but that would make one hell of a game

I don't know that I'd really call it spooky, but Koudelka was pretty good, not real time fights like RE for example, more of an RPG feel, but between the music, the setting, and the random battles, and what some of the mobs looked like, late at night it would occasionally scare the crap out of me. I know there was another game kind of similar to RE and Koudelka that I think had what you are looking for but for the life of me, I can't remember the name right now, if I figure it out, I'll let you know.

I first thought back to silent hill, and how the first time around when you'd open doors, or turn a corner, you didn't know what to expect. Basing your judgment on slight sounds and prayer that the next room isn't a cluster f*ck. The suspense of not knowing was probably the biggest creep out. and I'll check that out, corwin. thanks

One word ppl: Fallout 3.
W.A.T.S is what you're talking about. Fallout 3 is everything you ask for without the diablo thingie, its a FPS, but its still realtime made to RPG for the first time. Check some videos or reviews. Its not a horror game, but the whole feel of the game can be horror since you decide how to play it.

I wouldn't say Fallout 3 though, Bethseda is a really good company but that's just it: There's no limits, it's sometimes a bit out there in terms of an RPG.

well I was sort of avoiding the FPS style of things. While some may be based on horror aspects they often don't hold the kind of darkness and suspense I'm looking for here, but it does hold true to the multiple possibility idea, which I like. Perhaps I'm thinking too far back, on older games and such. There haven't been a tremendous amount of games I've gone through lately that have struck good replay value as far as enemies, is all. Once you know the strategy and placement of your enemies it looses that initial spark you get from the first playthrough. "holy hell! what are you doing here, AH!" "bang bang bang!" is what should be heard while playing the second time around.
thanks for the suggestion though. I'll have to try it out.
