Handwriting Vs. Typing

Which do you prefer? What are your opinions? What concerns do you have? Overall, please, share your views on why one way of communication through words is better than the other.

Personally, I think typing handicaps people and creates results of failure. Especially, when an individual has to handwrite an exam for highschool or worse...college. People seem to depend on technology more and more everyday. Even though using tech may be easier, it still has its flaws.

Example:
Student: "Oh shit...my speech was completely wiped clean."
Friend: *pulls out index cards with notes on them* "Luckeeey!!!"

Typing and the use of technology may have its side effects on the order of things, but i feel less threatened by it knowing that i am well prepared.

-Makes 3 saves of everything I write, on multiple formats, and knows how to use a printer, or can just take a flash drive cd or floppy with me where I go-

Now when writing by hand -Spends 3 times the amount of time putting it all down and getting hand cramps, and stuffs the frail easily crumpled bendy paper into wherever I can shove it

I was thinking about this topic a few days ago and came to an understanding by myself (huge accomplishment). TYping and handwriting both have their own beneefits. For me typing is way better. When i write, i tend to have my thoughts all over the place all disorganized. But when i type it'ss more easier for me to organize everything. Handwriting has its own benefits as well. Being the visula learner i am. If i write down something instead of typing it, i learn it better than typing it on the computer like for example taking notes, learning language, etc. Though my speech may be eqvalent to a high school drop out, typing makes me sound..somewhat smarter (so i think) and i can think much better than when i am talking so...Typing wins for my opinion.

i just right out things if i'm feeling lazy because my hand writhing isnt very read able so i like to type very important things.

That's another thing typing does. Typing diminishes handwriting skills and that's kind of bad too if you think about it.

I plead the norm. My handwriting has always looked like the cross result of a monkey trying to learn cursive with a child's ability to write in print.

I know alot of people who have bad handwriting skill but they are so smart. Smart than me. If you have bad handwriting you have bad handwriting. i have bad handwriting, but im trying to perfect it. I hate it and i forgot how to write cursive so im practicing again. Maybe if you practice, you might get it but you don't have to if you don't.

i found that after not using cursiv for a long time that now i like it better but i still forget a few of the letters

Same here. I learned it in the 3rd grade and i was nasty at writing it but then i forgot (weirdly) and i was stuck copying someon eelse's handwriting that messed up my own so now it so nasty. I hate it with a burning passion and i would do anything to fix it. I just want to write cursive people!!! lol
