Can the 360 catch up?

If you realized, Microsoft recently held a few price cuts on their systems. The arcade version of the 360 is now a low price of $200, where as the still sold out Wii stays at $250.

Do you think that the 360 can catch back up to Nintendo's lead in console Dominance? Will the cheaper cost affect the demand for the little white box that could? Or will Microsoft be doomed to second place?

I'm still not too sure that the 360 is going to make a comeback and gets first place. I own a 360, works great, I get to play games online with my friends on there and stuff, as well as watch DVDs and stuff. Sound is nice and the graphics are nice, but I honestly think that they will land in second.

I have also played the Wii, and I find that it's better then the 360. I just don't have the motive to buy it. My opinion.

The X-360 and the N's Wii are both great, so buy both and love em, they are not going to out sell the little hand held Nintendo Dual-Screen, ironically at the very tip top. The 360 sales may even out but they will always out run Sony's PS3 brick of bronzed-gold forever-a new system need to kill Sony or something like that- so we will have a better selection/Console "race".

I don't really think it possible for Nintendo to ultimately just "Beat" the other big consoles. The systems attract different audiences.

The Wii, in my opinion, is doing so well because a lot of its buys are from families. As the commercials insinuate and as it really is, it's a good object to spend time with your family. And over these decades, gaming has just become more and more popular and disputed amongst society.

A system from Sony or Microsoft leans more toward what I'd like to call the "Second Step". These consoles indisputably have a larger number of Mature titles, which will obviously attract interests of solo-gamers.

When I say solo-gamers, it generally means one or two people in the family, that may or may not be living alone at this point in a 15-19 age group. I feel that gaming like this will end up long-term as compared to family-based gaming.

If anything, the Wii is helping future generations to become more accepting of gaming, which will just help the other consoles.

I agree with you guys.

But, I think the 360 will beat the Wii. The price cut is going to be the key factor, and that the X-Box has better games and graphics, gameplay, and a better controller. Me personally, I hate the Wii. I dont like its revolutionary Wii-mote, I like the more conventional controller. And Nintendo is all about party and children's games, which doesnt appeal to me, and most other gamers. If the Wii came out with a Gears of War type, ungodly violent and gory, with umimaginably strong language, and strong sexul themes, the Wii aint going to cut it. Violence and sex is what appeals to the current generation of gamers (in my opinion, seeing what the world is today), and if Nintendo cant step up their game with those types of games, then they will lose. *thrusts my Wii-mote*

If 360 starts losing second place to the PS3 they'll just bag more exclusives for the 360.

The wii console might sell for more than the 360 but still the 360 got the best games :D , and as someone mentioned earlyer they attract diffrent audience.

I think that the 360 will see a sizable jump, being less expensive, more available and a large catagory of good games. However, I think this price cut will only give them a boost by 3 million or so to help them open the gap between them and Sony.
