Star Trek VS. Star Wars

A very important debate to me.
So in a war between ST and SW who would win? I want real opinions or reasons why one would win in a fight over the other, as in a total war, any stupid posts will be deleted on sight. If you don't give a reason it is deleted. I want a real debate.

I belive ST would win in space battle because they can fire continuous beams of energy and thier shields are better.

I'll be one of the few people arguing ST probably.

Hmmmm...I barely watched ST so please bare with the unintentional bias. SW to me is the jacked up on drugs ST meaning one had a lvled battle ground with equal chances at survival while in the other(SW) anyone could over power thier oppenent. Honestly i think the people of ST would have an extreme disadvantage simply because cloaks on ships wouldn't work(Jedi's meditation ability to sense everything within range), the guns used can be canceled out, SW seems to have a higher understanding of force fields/shields, battle meditation from a jedi to help their troops in space as well as on the ground, and SW has a deeper connection with the universe that gives them power. In a way the people of ST already exist in the universe of SW and they are successful because of the those who control the force. IMO SW is too over powered to be pinned in a fight against ST and would swallow their foes whole.

If anyone can tell me the advantages ST has in a fight against SW by all means please share your knowledge with me....I'm too optimistic to regect it. ^.^

As soon as I saw this thread I rushed over with nerd-like speed. My vote goes to SW, personally. (I was never a fan of ST either, so bear with me).

I'm pretty sure the scale of fights are much larger in SW, so I think any ST group would simply get overwhelmed.Also, come on, the "Force". The force can do anything!

interesting question. Well I'd break it down to 2 scenarios. first scenario would be that one of either side managed to invade and have the actual people fighting each other. Say storm troopers rushed a ST space station or something. whoever you put into the situation, I think ST is going to get it's ass kicked. storm troopers alone would take care of that. heck, seasoned jedi would make short work of them.
scenario 2 is where the money isn't so easy to bet. A battle of ships in space. It's a rather good point that cloaking is out of the question. A good jedi would be able to shoot you in the darkness of space even without a star nearby to light you up. However, I think I'd have to agree that ST shields are likely stronger, and their weapons are on average stronger. Unless the enterprise is getting a dose of a fully armed and operational deathstar. Kaboom! thanks for coming out. All in all, sorry soul, but I think I'd lay my bet on star wars.

Well for the cloaking, what happens when there are no jedi around to use force? SW gets blown up without jedi. Plus I think ST has a lot more people than SW. Not to mention there are people in ST who have force like perceptions, not the abilities like meditation, but can sense others. And I wanted to avoid bringing this up but ST has the borg. Storm troopers would be desimated by the borg. Plus a jedi can only block so many phaser beams before becoming ash, being that phasers can fire a steady beam. You can only block a couple beams at a time.

Aww, come on! SW is way better than ST. SW has LIGHTSABERS!! lol. Yeah, I agree with almost all the other members here. SW has MASSIVE fleets of spaceships. Star Destroyers will annihilate the Enterprise (and all other variants of the ship). And they have the Death Star. Yes, its been blown up. But they can rebuild it! And Jedi! Nothing can pwn Jedi. Yoda himself will freakin Force Push any ship into each other. Then Darth Vader will force choke the crap out of you! So what if ST has better shield and cannons. SW with their massive fleets of Star Destroyers and other ships with over power ST defenses. So yeah, SW is better than ST.

Technically, ST was released way before SW so who can say that SW didn't improve on all the weaknesses ST had shown in it's series. Hard to say since SW never had an official series(said to come out in 2009 or 2010) that would allow us to compare the two. Soldiers fighting without a commander/Jedi Knight/Sith Master present nearby hasn't been seen yet...well atleast not by me. Continuous beam Eh? you might be right about that...not sure if you can compare that with the lightning attack a sith uses on a jedi. In the end people in SW seem to be skilled in combat(BoBa Fett) and aren't completely defenseless in a war without the help of the force.

star wars has lightsabres and laser guns and the death star and huge walkers and darth mall......

reason 2)phasers have a stun mode
lightsabres only come in kill

and the force pwns the vulcan death grip.
also star wars has a storyline.

@Atomsk: What are you smoking exactly? I admit the force is very nice okay. There are wepons in ST that can erase an entire race of beings with a single push of a button. There aren't that many MALLS in ST so your darth mall beats any ST has. About the storyline, SW has a very amazing storyline, but can you honestly say ST has no storyline. ST was coming up with some of the most original storylines before you were even born. Also how helpful ls an AT-AT versus a ship with lasers, or a nice anti-matter bomb?

@Stray: ST has a more massive force of starships. How many alien beings can you name in SW, cause with ST I can name probably double what you can, and each race has a huge amount of ships by themselves. Yet again ST has bigger ships, and more advanced weapons. Not even yoda would survive on a ship surrounded by Klingon bird of preys(type of ship).

@Loki: SW has a lot of people who can fight but ST has races breed and born fighting(Klingons) Not sure how helpfull lightning is when being shot at by phasers like 50 feet away.
Maybe you should try to avoid space battles people cause that is the main aspect of ST.

ya the space battle is the key issue I'd say. star trek doesn't have much going for them on the ground...save the expendable characters whose names you never remember. phasers could still be blocked by a lightsaber, regardless of the continuous beam. SW has far better favour in a battle of characters, but a battle of ships would be where the interest comes in.
