Little Angelique- Chapter 1: The Beginning of the Endd

[~nekochan~]

It's scary. It's dark. I can't breathe. It's cold. This room is scary. "Mommy. Mommy? Where are you? Help me... please," I pleaded quietly, Close to tears. There was no reply.
I didn't want to be here. But what choice do i have? My name is Angelique Rayne. And the darkness... is my punishment. I am seven years old and live in Aradia of the Land of Snow.
To my parents, I'm a useless trouble making freeloader. But... that's not who I am. You'd think I would hate my parents. But the truth of it is is , I didn't. Not even a little. The room was cold so i wrapped my arms around my legs and curled up in a ball to keep warm.
The door creaked as it opened. My father stood there with a cold expression. "All right, you stupid brat. You've done your time, now come out and eat," he said.
I should be angry, but strangely, i felt relief, and grateful for my father. But i sat there, hesitating, but when I saw that his expression was getting impatient, I jumped up and gracefully walked past my father. I heard him mutter something under his breathe, but it was too low for my ears to hear.
When i walked into the kitchen, i stared at my plate on the floor. I walked toward it and stared at my father.
He glared at me for a moment. "Dogs like you eat on the floor," he said. Father walked and sat at his place at the table. He glanced at me with a cold expression still on his face. Once he saw my expression, his face softened and sighed, "It's part of your punishment.
"Well, at least it's punishment as a human rather then punishment as a dog," I thought.
After dinner, I asked if I may return to my room. Father had hesitated but finally said, with an annoyed tone, " Do what you want in that dump. Just don't bother us."
He went back to reading the Daily News. And I said happily to my father, " Thank you father, thank you very much." He just grunted in reply and i skipped happily to my room.
