Society or individual

Who has more influence on one nation? (doesn't really matter which one)
An individual or the whole society? If society is that important, why do we need, in the end, only a few chosen people to tell us what to do? Is that because we are too lazy to think for our selves or do we trust these people so much even if we don't personally know them?

A whole lot of questions, I know...

well, i think a whole society is very influencial because there is more ppl debating things which gives way to more ideas. but an individual (dictator), though he forces ppl to do as he says, can bring more equality and peace then a group of ppl. im not sure if this is what u asked for or if i made any sense but there u go....

It depends on the situation. For example, it took only two wemon in particular, Susan B. Anthony and Rosa Parks, to create massive movements towards Civil rights to women, and african americans. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote a speech that inspired the entire nation, "I have a Dream" in which he told of a day where the black community could be as equal as the white community.

Meanwhile, we have Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and many many colonialists that came from Britain, who believed that they could succeed from Britain, and form their own independant nation.

lol i thin society has more influence, it influences the way we talk, act, dress except for the few people like me who does give a **** about what society thinks about me.
