Why have we fallen so hard for anime ?

i enjoy anime because well alot of reasons, 1 its awsome 2, its different from anything out there 90% of the things on tv besides anime are sports realilty tv and random shit that everyone hates... i think everyone would love anime, but there is differet types of anime
it might be easy for someone to fall for anime but on the other hand the rightanime might not "show" itself to a person and that person will go on thinking anime sucks... i hate people like that.. but everyone is entitled to their opinions so..meh... wow i talk to much lololololol

Maybe it is me but looking at American Cartoons, there is almost no difference from back then to what they show now. Heck the ones back then were better. Japanese Anime changed a lot. To me Cartoons and Anime are two completly different things. Cartoons are only for pointing a finger at laughting for some other reason that no longer is really funny. Only random and no point, I mean really. Have any of you seen whats on. This is only my opinion so don't take it to deeply, feel free if you want to though.

I'm a cartoon junkie in general, but anime just has too much of an edge over anything western cartooners could do. Our cartoons are pretty much just retarded excuses to laugh when you break it down (which is good). Anime just has way more depth and dimension and seems like somebody actually put thought into the show.

In my opinion.
I mean, generic cartoons normally don't have plots.
But even the anime that don't necessarily have plots are more interesting...

Anime is waaay better than cartoons and some of my first animes was some of the best shows I have seen :D
Im not quiet sure why it is so fun , but its way better than many cartoons and live action movies....

Really what about shows like Batman: The animated series, or the Spider-man series (2003). Sure they where still directed at kids but they had characters with emotional depth and sometimes great stories.
