Welcome to the AnimeFuel Community Forums, I'm the owner of this website Demon fox and lucky for you I'm not here to use my ninja skills on yah, plenty of time for that later I assure you. Instead I'll be telling you a little about this place.

As you should be able to tell by now you are not registered with us as of yet and probably need a good reason to do so. Between you and I we both know you're a lazy bastard and so if you don't even want to listen to the rest of my introduction speech you may as well just go register.

Otherwise here's what you can do on our forums once you've registered. When you register you will be able to chit chat in our forums, entertain yourself with games and share videos with other members. The forums allows you to get access to free downloads shared by members, fast and direct support with video problems from members and staff and make anime requests which are priortized above anyone else's.

There are many more things you can do but our aim is to bring together a community of video fans where you can feel comfortable and make lots of friends around the world. God knows you need them.

So get your butt over to the registration page and join my I mean OUR community. Oh and one more thing watch out for a crazy guy with a gun he's wandering around somewhere in these pages and you'll probably see him if you become really slack with the forum.

This message will self destruct once registration is completed.

I don't like using stuff like that as an argument, anime, just like video games and tv aren't to blame, it's the parents, the teachers, and the peers for not being a better influence, if your parents can't teach you not to jump off a bridge or put your head in front of a power saw, then how is that anime's fault?

Even if they banned the import, couldn't the anime firms just produce it in the US?

Well I'm from Europe, so I'm safe. But i actually think that a ban might make more people watch anime. First because of the added interest because of the prohibition.

But i've also noticed that a lot of the people i know, have a lot of prejudice towards Anime. I think it's because they only know it from the children shows, and therefore they do not believe that its worth watching.
If they hadn't seen the anime shows in tv, i could probably get them to watch a lot easier.

(Of course they like it when they actually try it )

They couldn't really produce it in the US to avoid the import law b/c they'd have to make everything from scratch again, starting w/ the animation and scripts, meaning it couldn't be the same show that they wanted to import or someone would A. figure it out. B. sue for copyright and intellectual property infringement.

And yes, it does seem to be a problem that most ppl associate anything animated w/ a children's show, so even when you show them blatantly mature animated shows, they view it more as an exception rather than proof, if you show them hentai they think it's just a perversion, not an example, and something like Blood+ or Death Note that have mature themes, they look at as an abnormality b/c animated features should be for children and they are unwilling to give them a chance, the key I've discovered, is get them interested in the storyline first, before you spring the fact that it's animated on them, that's how I've gotten ppl I know to watch

yeah I really hate it when people say that anime are for kids. It really just makes my blood boil. "Har Har you watch anime cartoons, those are for kids, I watch cool shows like Lost and stuff on MTV." I have had people say that to me before.

MTV? that's just moronic, that entire network is aimed at 14yr old kids who don't know any better yet, and wth happened to the music, 2 MTV channels and barely any music between them, as for Lost, it is a great show, but people who are too prejudiced against anime to admit that it might be suitable for adults aren't worth time in my book

Well I grew up with cartoons so going to anime was no big deal. Everyone else just has to realize its a different from cartoons. Just because both are animated doesn't mean they are the same thing.

yet these people are the same people who will then go watch shows like South Park, Family Guy, and The Simpsons (all funny animated shows I like, but most definitely not for kids) after they tell us animated shows are for children, because they have no idea what they are talking about.
