Welcome to the AnimeFuel Community Forums, I'm the owner of this website Demon fox and lucky for you I'm not here to use my ninja skills on yah, plenty of time for that later I assure you. Instead I'll be telling you a little about this place.

As you should be able to tell by now you are not registered with us as of yet and probably need a good reason to do so. Between you and I we both know you're a lazy bastard and so if you don't even want to listen to the rest of my introduction speech you may as well just go register.

Otherwise here's what you can do on our forums once you've registered. When you register you will be able to chit chat in our forums, entertain yourself with games and share videos with other members. The forums allows you to get access to free downloads shared by members, fast and direct support with video problems from members and staff and make anime requests which are priortized above anyone else's.

There are many more things you can do but our aim is to bring together a community of video fans where you can feel comfortable and make lots of friends around the world. God knows you need them.

So get your butt over to the registration page and join my I mean OUR community. Oh and one more thing watch out for a crazy guy with a gun he's wandering around somewhere in these pages and you'll probably see him if you become really slack with the forum.

This message will self destruct once registration is completed.

Default A complaint of sorts...

So, the sub-text for this section of the forum says that heated discussions shall commence here... I'm a sad panda to discover that that is not occurring at the moment.

I guess what I'm trying to say is: Someone please battle me! I would enjoy a good debate. I call Suntzu as a teammate though. That's the only catch ;)

Aye Noodle, Tremble foes, pronounce the grounds and we shall meet thee there.

They are frightened I take it... How disheartening.

No worries. I was thinking we could debate religion, abortion, or immigration or something... Any takers? Something interesting would be nice.

what is the best form of government?
I was thinking on this the other day as a result of questioning the true ideals of "democratic" nations, ie. canada (where I live) or better yet the US. they tend to stray from what we've been taught they are, and therefore I wondered if they were any greater before, or are they to evolve into something greater. Personally, I'd say government will inevitably be faulty in any form, but perfection aside, what form of government is the most ideal?
discuss!

Technically, we're not supposed to live in a democratic society (the U.S. at least. I'm pretty sure Canada is in the same boat). We're supposed to have a constitutional republic. The founding fathers of the U.S. even said that democracy is the worst form of government. In a constitutional republic we vote for people who will represent the views of the common folk to the government. They are affectionately referred to as "representatives."

Alas, our society has degenerated into a democracy. We have mob rule. 51% of the population controls 49%. Someone once said, in fact, "In a democracy, two wolves and a sheep take a majority vote on what’s for supper, while in a constitutional republic, the wolves are forbidden on voting on what’s for supper and the sheep are well armed."

Also, we have something called the "electoral college." I'd just like to formally say:

Fuck that.

Oh, as for the perfect type of government, I'd say a democratic robocracy is best.

A constitutional republic is actually a very sensible form of government...in the beginning. the idea that law rules rather than the opinion of the people is a fair means of maintaining order. however it proves faulty in the sense that law must be determined and continuously updated in order to maintain...well, order. Add in the fact that many forms of republics are scarcely in keeping with their societies true to the definition of their governing ideal. The US strayed quite far off course from it's foundation for example. But would it be fair to say that the US is a democracy, when you're becoming more and more empirical. I mean, truthfully how much sway do the people have in the navigation of their government. a handful of lobbyists of grandiose corporations seem to have far greater influence of the US then it's people do. And your government can decide what your opinions are for you after you've voted them in. Canada is much the same way, though I think America takes it to an extreme in comparison. It's far more autocratic than I think most people would say.
however, to the point of robocracy (the democratic form that is). If democracy is as faulted as made claim, then would our mechanical friends make it any more stable? Granted they wouldn't have the emotional capacity to argue back if they were in the 49th percentile.
I think that if a republic could stand on it's own two feet and survive negative influence, it would make for the most ideal governance of the people (robots can join too, but they have to play fair. no saws or tippy wedges). Anyone disagree? I was thinking there might be some stout and steadfast kira fans calling for a mighty dictator, but alas I'm to quick to post.
