Welcome to the AnimeFuel Community Forums, I'm the owner of this website Demon fox and lucky for you I'm not here to use my ninja skills on yah, plenty of time for that later I assure you. Instead I'll be telling you a little about this place.

As you should be able to tell by now you are not registered with us as of yet and probably need a good reason to do so. Between you and I we both know you're a lazy bastard and so if you don't even want to listen to the rest of my introduction speech you may as well just go register.

Otherwise here's what you can do on our forums once you've registered. When you register you will be able to chit chat in our forums, entertain yourself with games and share videos with other members. The forums allows you to get access to free downloads shared by members, fast and direct support with video problems from members and staff and make anime requests which are priortized above anyone else's.

There are many more things you can do but our aim is to bring together a community of video fans where you can feel comfortable and make lots of friends around the world. God knows you need them.

So get your butt over to the registration page and join my I mean OUR community. Oh and one more thing watch out for a crazy guy with a gun he's wandering around somewhere in these pages and you'll probably see him if you become really slack with the forum.

This message will self destruct once registration is completed.

Default best martial art?

which one is the best martial art ? and also tell me whats your favourite martial art movie
I would say jujutsu , because many other martial arts are influenced or deriviated from jujutsu examples : (copy paste from wikipedia )
Derivatives and influences
Some examples of martial arts that have developed from or have been influenced by jujutsu are: Aikido, Bartitsu, Hapkido, Judo (and thence Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Sambo), Kajukenbo, Kapap, and Kenpo – as well as some styles of Japanese Karate.

your poll is slightly flawed. Kung Fu and Wu Shu are about the same thing. Anyways, having chinese influenced background, i would back chinese martial arts (especially Shaolin kung fu c(>.<)b''). Supposedly All martial arts in the world derived from shao lin.

As a Martial Artist, for me, there is no 'best' style. A lot of people may not know, but Kung Fu means 'skill'. in chinese you can say "Lei hou gong fu" (you are very skillfull) even if they are simply sewing. on that note, a skill is something that is constantly improving. which is why there are countless to infinity styles of kung fu. It evolves over time. people are always adapting, borrowing ideas, etc. it may be possible for there to be a style of kung fu for every family, region, or idea.

This is what Bruce Lee spent his life searching for. He started by learning Siu Lan (Shaolin) Kung Fu, which could be considered the local 'style' for chinese people. He moved on to learn Karate, Tae Kwon Do, even American Boxing. he learned everything. He then realized "what is style?" Style is a limitation. If you do something with a certain form, it is limited to that form. which is why he concluded that the Best Style is No Style. "Be Formless, Like Water."

I gotta disagree, from what I know, as a Bruce Lee obsessive, he studied Wing Chun under Yip man. He then taught Jun Fan Gung Fu in the States until he was challenged by Wong Jak Man. He thought the fight lasted too long (Different stories tell different times, Bruce Lee's side 3 minutes, WJM's 20 minutes). He studied boxing, fencing, judo, and jujitsu and from then formed Jeet Kune Do. He targeted Karate as a style a lot, hence in his movies, he's usually beating up karateka.

But you are right, the best style is no style, there is no real optimum martial arts, it's not down to the teachings but the student. But mixed martial arts are very effective, especially when you combine a stand up style to a ground-based, grappling style like Muay Thai and Brazilian Jujitsu. But in my opinion and to my knowledge, where styles are strongest are, of course this is arguable, but this is what I know, and the more popular martial arts know to the general public,

Overall Striking - Muay Thai
Kicking - Tae Kwon Doe/ San Shou
Punching - Boxing
Grappling - Brazilian Jujitsu/ Catch Wrestling/ Judo/ Jujitsu/ Aikido
Fastest Style - Some form of Wushu.
Balance - Ninjitsu

Which styles of Karate? I know next to nothing about karate but I always though it stemmed from Chinese martial arts from Okinawan merchants.

Oh and Danny The Dog (Unleashed), such a kick ass movie. IT HAS MORGAN FREEMAN!!! And brutal fight scenes.

I don't want to offend anybody, but to me, capoeira seems excessive. I mean if you put a capoeira in an octagon with a veteran MMA, of similar experience levels, the capoeira fighter wouldn't have a chance to pull of the moves often shown on capoeira videos, the flashy flips, ducks, sweeps.

And Brazilian Ju Jitsu is a popular partial art which is derived from Judo and is known for it's exceptional grappling skills. Many MMA fighters come with a BJJ background. It became popular in I think the 90s.

i'd choose silat, that's indonesian fighting techique. it teaches you to KILL an opponent that is equal or STRONGER THAN you. martial arts is supposed to kill people and bring a calm yet murderous state of mind. it's not supposed to disarm (taikwondoe)
