Arcose

The sun set in the west as a yellowish orange color filled the sky. Saki stood atop of a steeple on the tallest church in Tokyo, Japan. She pondered on what she had done. She murdered Riion! How could she have done that? Saki glanced to the east to the forest line that guides its way to the Kurai Manor. She will get her revenge. If it weren’t for Nite, Riion would still be alive.
She ran down the side of the copper-domed church and took flight. Tears flew from her eyes as she looked forward ahead. Saki hasn’t been home in a month and she can’t go back looking the way she does. How would she explain this to her grandma? For now, she’s dead to the family.
Saki flew to the forest once more and descended down into a clearing with a pond. Water nymphs hid in the sea grass at the bottom once Saki looked over into the water. Cupping her hands, she scooped up the water and took a drink. Ripples formed in the water. Riion’s face flashed in the reflection and was gone. She missed him. She loved him. Her heart was ripped in two that night and she blamed herself for it.
A rustle was heard in the nearby bushes as a man walked out into the clearing. He was badly wounded. He was skinny and had short white hair; his eyes were clinched shut as he held onto a wound on his left side. His left ear was pierced and chains hung low. The shirt he wore was a pale silky white and all torn up. The dark blue pants were shriveled up at the bottom hem up to the knees. Saki gasped as he collapsed to the ground.
She ran up to him and helped him to the spring. Saki tore a piece of material from her olive green dress and wrapped it around his waist where the wound was. He pushed her aside and splashed the cold water at his face. When he opened his eyes, they were metallic, icy blue.

“Are you okay?” asked Saki as she reached out to him. Again he pushed her aside.

“I don’t need any help.”

“But, you’re wounded very badly. Let me heal you.”

“No! Stay away from me!”

“Sei Hikari…”

A halo of light shined over the wound as a white, little angel strung his harp. The wound began to seal it and the man hissed. The small angel disappeared. The blood and the wound were also gone.

“I told you to leave me alone….”

“Not with a wound like that. What is your name?”
“Shouldn’t you give your own name first?”

He took another sip from the fresh spring.

“I’m … I’m….”

She thought for a moment. Who was she? Saki or Seiya?

“What’s the problem? Don’t you know your own name?”

“I used to be called Saki Monogukii. But, lately, I’ve been called Seiya. I was once human until I received a blue rose that changed me into this creature that stands before you.”

“I see. I’m Arcose. I, too, was human until recently….”
