chapter 4 & 5

Yokunai Yume

Fin Stood in the midst of the dark abyss as a droplet of blood fell from above her. She stared at the crimson ripples as they expanded. A soft child-like giggle was heard, and then quickly faded away when a vision of a face floated in midair. It was the girl, Saki. She’s smiling past Fin. A blue rose flashed in front of Fin’s black eyes and Saki’s face disappeared. Fin was, then, forced to turn to the right and she immediately obeyed the law of chaos. Nite was running with his arms out-stretched in greeting. Fin held out her arms as well, but slowly dropped them as Saki ran up to Nite. Fin’s eyes widened with betrayal as she saw them lean in to kiss one another. The black eyes begin to glow red; stained with hatred and dismay. She blinked and the vision shattered and began to pour colorful raindrops. More ripples played and danced in the darkness.

Am I dying? Fin asked herself. No, this is a dream.

A boy sat down in the distance. A shadow covered his face as he held the blue rose. He had dark, blue, short hair with black bangs. It was Riion. Riion was nude and covered in scars that still bled. He looked up. His eyes burned brick red. Then he, too, was gone.
Fin’s eyes quickly opened and were breathing hard. Heat flared beneath the skin as her heart thumped heavily against her chest. She squinted her eyes with anger. Finally, she eased up and grinned.

“I mush destroy her. But first, I’ll play along with her game and use what she cherishes the most. Toy with my emotions, will she?”

She laughed hysterically into the darkness of her room and fell right back to sleep: smiling.

The Eclipse

Saki was in a brood mood while she laid in her bed. She stared at the wall with thoughts that raced in her mind. Riion could’ve been killed. But why did I change? She slowly blinked her eyes and turned her head to look at the white, round clock on the far wall. It was almost noon. Her television was turned on to the local news and the volume of the anchorwoman’s voice drowned out Saki’s thoughts.

“In ten minutes, a solar eclipse will take place here in Tokyo, Japan. So, get out your binoculars, go outside and have fun. Now, onto the weekly weather report. Sanoou…”

Saki reached for the remote and clilcked the T.V. off. Laying on her back, she took a deep breath and hoisted herself off the bed.

“I guess I can wait for the eclipse,” Saki thought to herself.

She opened her bedroom window and looked out. The coast was clear. Stretching out her wings, she started to climb out of the window. Saki jumped and she expanded her wings and flew upward toward the sky. Turning around, she headed for the roof of her two-story house and sat on the edge and waited.
The shadow of the earth began to cover the edge of the sun as Saki watched in awe. More people came out of their homes to watch as well; ignoring the fact that there was an angel amongst them. By now, the sun was covered and the town was dark. A silver line outlined the fluffy clouds in the sky.
A screeching bird-like scream was then heard in the distance. Saki stared off toward the sound. She saw a dark figure with skin-covered wings. Something dangled from her arms. It flew forward toward Saki and she stood up. The people down below looked up finally and saw the angel in disbelief. Saki’s hair drifted in the breeze as Fin stopped a few feet away from where Saki stood. Fin was carrying Riion! She held him by the chest with one arm and held a dragonhead dagger to his neck with the other.

“Stay away from Nite or this boy will die,” Fin said as she gently placed pressure on Riion’s neck and he winced.

“What are you talking about?”

“Just stay away or I’ll kill him!”

She flew back east with Riiion. Saki’s eyes widened wit hfear as she watched Fin vanish before the eclipse was gone. She sat back down on the edge and stared out into the distance. Tears began to gently fall and she looked down at the people who stared back, not knowing what to do.

“What did she mean? I have to save Riion,” Saki whispered aloud.

The people watched Saki take flight; following the path of Fin’s. I’ve got to save him, she thought. Cold air stabbed Saki’s skin like frozen icicles as she flew. Five minutes later, she reached the forest that grew between Tokyo and the Kurai Manor. Slowing down, she dropped gradually to the ground to take a break and to regain her strength. She sat next to a small creek, big enough to bathe in. she closed her eyes and unfastened the belts that bounded her. the belts slid off and gently landed on the ground. Her wings folded up to her body as she too a step into the chilly water. When she reached the middle of the creek, her breathing began to stagger with coldness. Then, she ducked under water. When she came back up to breathe, Saki saw a dark figure standing behind a blue spruce tree. The figure turned his head to show his face. Saki was shocked to find that it was Nite Kurai.

I find this one too be a little more calming.. i could almost picture the coast in this chapter!!
