Escaped from "Hell"

One year ago, on this very day
I escaped from what I call hell
I didn't have the courage at first to do.

Each day that passed,
that grew into a month
that grew to over a year
Drained my energy
and played a part in weakening my soul.

Torn and hate
Beaten and Bruised
Used to being used
Unhappy and disrespected,
there was no way out.


It felt like I had lost my voice
and that I couldn't speak out.
I was scared,
and living in the dark.

But then my guardian angel,
show me the light and pulled me from shadow.
Took my hand, held me close.
told me it would be okay,
stood beside me
watched out and cared for me.
Gave me back the courage lost
I felt the wounds begin to heal.

I was able to escape,
to walk away and move from hell
to a life I deserved.

Now I am walked down a new road
as the flames of my past
burn out.

Not bad, not your best but still above average in comparison to other works...Not only yours I might add.

I am sure many people have this this kind of reformation. I know I did.
