Incoming freshman need advice!

Hey animefuel im an incoming freshman at lane tech and i need some advice about things like what i should look out for on my first day aand stuff like that

Your first day will be little more than a biting obligation to get to know fellow students and your professors. Your classes will mostly be your professors going over the syllabi for the semester. Also, if you live on campus, and your school is anything like mine, your hall RA will be trying to get you to come out of your room and do "fun" stuff.

Try making some friends with older students. If you are more outgoing then people will start to notice you and remember you, which is very good thing.

Sit still, be quiet, let them wonder about you and when they least expect it pull out all the epic that you can and blow their fuckin minds. Its better to mind-fuck people and then just let it sit. More fun that way. And if you do it that way then you also avoid meeting asshole people who only act like decent human beings when you outnumber them.

Are you kidding me? College is infinitely more fun. There's more things to do, there's more cool people to hang out with, the professors are more human instead of stuffy, self-censoring high school teachers, the classes are more focused and you actually learn more while in a better environment, etc.

I'd have to say that bobcat's advise is worthless since it's directed for someone in grades 1-8 (Just say that senoir jr sophmore freshman is 2 years long going through those classes)

Alright, here's some good advise. First off, since it's a technical school, make a habit of looking at machinery, and try to envision how it works and runs. Any possible opportunity to open up a machine and see all of it's inner workings, take it. Get a job that involves machinery or computers.

Another thing you should make habit of is going to science heavy news sites and learning about new technology, breakthroughs, discoveries that are being made. You won't make alot of progress if you are confining yourself to what's in a text book that stays the same year round.

Now, as for the classes. As a freshman, obviously means introductory courses. With college, some people go in for 8 years of schooling, some 2, some 6, some 12, maybe even a couple of people that only go for half a year. That means that freshman, sophmore, whatever. Those are meaningless when you are gunning for a different degree, so don't even worry about it.

In class, things will get harder as you progress, and I'm not even taking specialized classes yet, but they are nearly impossible for me to do on my own. Make as many friends as you can that are going into the same feild as you and are taking relativly the same classes. This will help immensly, because now you have a collaboration of minds working to the same goals, and this means that if you get stuck, you have more minds that may not have gotten stuck. The more people you have working together, the more easily you can get through homework assignments. Limit yourself to 6 people working together at a time however, because then it gets clustered and everyone will need to start copying each other.
