Ok, so, I know you've heard the term "Emo" thrown around in mixed conversation, and I know you know what it means. If not, go to http://urbandictionary.com and type emo into the search bar....after that, come back here and see a possibly less known term:

Seen

People who are Seen are different from people who are Emo. I'm Seen, not Emo, as everyone is always sure to remind me, lol, and there are a few major differences.

1. Ever notice how a lot of Emo's wear make-up? Seen's (proper plural?rotflmfao) don't do that. Minus the exception of actor's, who wear stage makeup.

2. Ever heard that Emo's are whiney brats? (I've already raved about how untrue that is, so I'm not doing it again here...check out the "Emo?" thread if you care to see) Seen's are ery outspoken, and very social, sometimes they may appear homosexual, but that's not necessarily the case!

3. Seen's are sounding boards! Maybe you talked to an Emo friend about a problem you were having and they told you it would all be over soon and you would be happier in the ground......:O.O: WOAH! Not the case with Seen's! We talk you through problems (normally very well) and I know a few (including myself) who have talked down suicides!

4. Seen's aren't a lot different from anybody else, they just wear different clothes, though not too extravagant, and don't follow any sort of social trend/fashion trend/peer pressure etc., we're our own people.

yea i know what your saying caster but it really wont change the kids who said they hated emos, theyre still going to!!!! so just let it go and chat with everyone cuz it doesnt matter what the fuck you are!! your a human leave it at that, ok? no more scene, emo, gangster, prep, nerd, etc. just be yourself if that isnt enough then ignore the fuckers who make fun of you cuz theyre never going to understand....i hope this has shed some light on your rants, not trying to satrt a fight, but its the truth, i also posted again in the "Emo?" thread cause apparently you didnt read all the posts!

Labels? Maybe, but placed by who? Is it something you can decide on and spread? Or is it merely something you have to accept?? And how possible is it to reach out of your label and into the light?

You can fight all you want it won't change. As Gravi said labels, you said set by who, are set by society as a whole. Whether you like it or not society will always over power. Example, the F word is considered a bad word. Why? These same four letters are found in other words that are acceptable. What makes them so much more powerful when place togather. Society did. The F word is a word like any other no more or no less powerful than any other word, but society has dicided it is taboo and has given it power. The same goes for labels. Labels stick and have power becuase society has deemed them to. It is human nature to label and hate what is different. Is it right? No. Yet we all do it whether we want to or not. I'm sure there is something society has decided on that being the good little unthinking human you have decided to take as truth.

well I was gonna toss in what starscream said, but, well...he said it.
Even you've placed a label on yourself. society hard at work. If you were really individual, you wouldn't be recognized at all. People would have a tough time trying to slap a label on you and you wouldn't know where you fit snuggly in the social world. You've signed yourself up to an association and you're sticking with it. Despite all your personal individuality, you're still in a big jar with everybody else like you. At least you're not an emo tho, right!
