The Nightmere, It's Over now

((Okay this wasa script that I wrote for class. It was based on an RP that I was In. I used this RP instead of my main one because I was unsure if my teacher would have let me.. I decided I would post it and share with you. PS I suck at writing scripts.)

~*~ It is night time and in the town is quiet and the air is filled with calmness. The moon is high in the sky and the stars are shinning bright. Above the local bar there a few rooms were Jack, the bar owner lives with his young friend Kimber. They are asleep in different rooms, it is silent, until that silence is broken. ~*~

(Kimber enters screaming)

Kimber: (runs from one side of the room to another) No! Stay away from me! No! HELP!!

Man: (Enters, running after Kimber) Get back here you thief!! When I catch you, I swear I am going to kill you!!

Kimber: (looks around for a moment and then she walks over to a bush and crouches down behind it, with her back turned)

Man: (he appears from behind her and grabs her shoulders.) Gotcha!!!

Kimber: (she screams, kicks him in the stomach, ducks down and then she crawls between his legs to get away)

Man: (screams) Wench!! (runs after her again)

Kimber: Stay away from me! Help me, please someone…somebody please help me! (she hides in a bush)

Man: (He gets up and then walks forward, past the bush were she was hiding,) This time you won’t escape, this time its over, this time I promise to kill you! (He swings around angrily and draws a gun)

Kimber: (aside) I have to get away (end aside) (she looks around and finds a rock lying on the ground) (aside) Perfect (end aside)

Man: I know you are there!! Get out here! NOW! (he puts his finger on the trigger, and pulls it making a loud noise scaring some birds that were in a near by bush)

(Birds fly away scared)

Kimber: I hope this works. (she stands up)

Man: There you are , its time to - - -

Kimber: You…you killed my parents…I will never forgive you for that

(Throws the rock and it hits him directly in the center of his head)

Man: ARG!!!! (Stumbles backwards and falls over onto his bottom)

Kimber: This is my chance (jumps up and runs out of the bushes and runs forward)

Man:You will pay for this!! (Picks up the rock and throws it, it hits her in the back and she falls forward)

Kimber: AHHH!!

Man: (He struggles to his feet, brushes himself off and picks up the gun, walking towards her)

Kimber: (she looked at him and then she tried to get away) Ouch (she reaches over and places her hand on her ankle)

Man: (Points the gun at her) Time to die!

Kimber: (lying on the ground, screams)

Kimber: (sits up and looks around, she is in a room on a bed) That dream, not again. (sighs)

Kimber: (looks around the room shaking) Why does this keep happening….?

(Jack knocks on door)

Jack: Kimber, are you alright?

Kimber: (The knock startles her and she screams again, thinking it’s the man) NO, STAY AWAY!!!

Jack: Kimber, what’s wrong? Hold on I am coming in. (Charges towards the door and pushes on it, knocking it open)

(As Jack pushes the door open, Kimber runs past him screaming and into the corner of the room)

Jack: (Half asleep) Kimber..? were are you..? Am I dreaming..? (yawns)

Kimber: (stays quiet in the corner)

Jack: (turns towards the corner were Kimber is) Oh. There you are.

Kimber: ( quickly jumps to her feet) Stay away from meeeeeee!!!!!! (she runs past him and jumps onto a window ledge) I swear I will jump if you don’t stay away!!

Jack: No Kimber don’t! (Runs to her and grabs her arm) Kimber, snap out of it, danmnit I am getting sick of this.

Kimber: I swear I am going to jump!! ( readies to jump)

Jack: Oh no you don’t (he wraps his arms around her waist quickly and lifts her of the window sill and onto the ground)

Kimber: Don’t touch me!!! ( she tries to pull away, but Jack has is holding onto arm)

Jack: Kimber, shhh its me, its Jack.

Kimber: (She looks at him and then shakes her head) What…? Jack...what happened? Were am I?

Jack: (smiles, knowing Kimber has snapped out of it) Hey, you (he yawns) alright?

Kimber: I…I.....I had a nightmare…about my - -

Jack: What happened in your dream? You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to. You know I am here for you if you need anything. You know I’m your friend right?

Kimber: (she looked at him and nodded in response to his question about their friendship) I know that you’re my friend.

Jack: Alright, so what happened in your dream? (he leads her back over to the bed and sits down with her)

Kimber: My parents and twin brother were killed by a bandit when I was 4 years old. The bandit that did so..was were caught. In my dream, I was being chased by him, I witnessed my parents being killed that night, and now again in my dream. I was being chased by the very man who killed them.

Jack: Kimber…I am sorry to hear about your family and that you witnessed such a terrible act.

Kimber: (she looked outside the open window at the full moon in the sky, a few tears began to form in her eyes) I never got to say good bye.

Jack: Kimber come on don’t –

Kimber: I never got to say how much they meant to me..I remember my mother was pregnant at that time..I never got to be an older sister, I never got to watch over someone (more tears form in her eyes, her bangs fall over her eyes)

Jack: (moves his hand under her bangs and bushes them out of the way) Kimber, look at me.

Kimber: (she doesn’t move her head; she just averts her eyes to look at him)

Jack: Kimber remember something, it wasn’t your fault that they were killed. Do not place the blame on yourself. You could not control what happened. I am sure your parents knew how much they meant to you. I am sure they knew you loved them and I am sure you would have made a wonderful older sister

Kimber: (she smiled and looked up into his eyes)

Jack: (he smiled back and wiped the few remaining tears from her eyes)

Jack and Kimber: (they kept their gaze on each other, continuing to look into one another’s eyes)

~*~ Suddenly a broomstick that was leaning against the corner near a window falls over and landed on the ground making a loud crashing noise. Kimber is startled and she jumps back hitting her head against the wall that was behind her be. Jack looked at her and then he extended his hand towards her. Kimber doesn’t move, she just sits there shaking. ~*~

Jack: Kimber what’s wrong? The wind must’ve knocked it over. The wind can get pretty cold on a night like this.

Kimber: (she said nothing)

Jack: Come on Kimber, this has to stop. You are safe in here, you are not outside.

Kimber: (looks down)

Jack: (sighs) Kimber, I mean it…

Kimber: (stands up) I guess I’ll leave...

Jack: What? No, Kimber don’t.

Kimber: All I seem to do is cause you trouble…(starts to head towards the door)

Jack: Kimber (he grabs her hand) You don’t cause trouble..its just the past 3 nights in a row you have woken up scared like this…

Kimber: You don’t know whats it like…running away from everything, all the time, all those years are lonesomeness, all I wanted was someone to care for me..

Jack: Kimber, listen to me…I don’t want you to leave, when I took you in, I wanted you to be safe. Just try to not think of all the bad times…

Kimber: I know…I try not to but - - -

Jack: Just try, Okay?

Kimber: I will try.. (she sighed)

Kimber: So many nights alone..so many people to harm me…hate me…always on the run…so many things that could kill me..so many - - -

Jack: I won’t let them or anyone hurt you. Don’t forget I have a gun. If anyone or anything tries to harm you they better start running because I will chase them all the way to the end of the world and back again, then just for the hell of it I will chase them around the world again.

Kimber: Th..th..thank you.

Jack: You’re welcome

Kimber: (She smiles and then turns her head to look out the window)

Jack: Tell me..what did you do when you were living on the streets and you suddenly became worried or frightened like this?

Kimber: (She looked down) nothing…

Jack: Nothing?

Kimber: I would just lie there the whole night..scared like this..I have..I had no one to turn to, no one run to, no one to hold me, to tell me it was alright. I had no one to hold me close at night and make all the worry or the fear go away. I would cry myself to sleep most nights or get so scared to the point were I would just fall asleep from exhaustion. I remember hoping so many times that I would wake up in a house, and someone would care for me..but that never came true. All those nights I was alone…I would look into houses sometimes and see families having dinner and sitting down and being together…I remember wishing for a family, but that never came true, I lived alone my whole life..no where to go..no other choice. (She yawned getting tired)

Jack: (he put an arm around her and held her close) you’re here now, and I am here. You’re a lot safer in this room than out on the streets. Think of that and it will help you sleep.

Kimber: (She looked at him and then smiled, her eyes becoming calmer. She leaned her head over towards his shoulder and then she stopped for a second. She then leaned in all the way and rested her head on his shoulder, feeling safe and protected in his hold) Thank you Jack.

Jack: You’re welcome, Kimber.

Kimber: I will try…I will try to move on and forget about my past.

Jack: That’s good, don’t forget, I will be here to help you every step of the way. That’s what friends do for each other. They help out one another.

Kimber: I know, I guess I never had a real friend before.

Jack: Yeah, well now you do. And you don’t have to worry. I am glad you are going to try to move on. Trying might not get you there in one day, but eventually you will be able to fully move on.

Kimber: (She keeps her head on his shoulder)

~*~ Jack just looked at her and then smiled. After a few minutes the room has became quiet and calmer. He looks at Kimber, her head still on his shoulder. His smile became warmer and peaceful as he noticed that she had fallen asleep. Jack carefully lies her back down on the bed and covers her with the blankets. He then stands up and starts heading towards the exit of the room ~*~

Jack: Goodnight, sleep well Kimber.

~*~ Jack exits the room ~*
