Rebirth Ragnarok

So, were we last left off, I emerged from a tunnel to a forest. Yes, I was amazed by this. After so long in a cave, seeing trees and nature even brought tears to my eyes. Yet, many questions remain. How did this come to pass? How is it that an entire forest came up from a destroyed Earth in just 2 years? These questions swirled in my head. Could it be that the invaders did this with their technology? Perhaps...perhaps not. I shook my head, clearing it of my concerns, " I will be answered soon enough" I thought. So, I wandered further into the forest. I did not know what to expect in this unreal world but I had to take chances.

I drifted further into the forest. The smell of pine came to me. It smelled wonderful! So long had it been since I last smelt something such as this. 30 minutes of wandering brought me to a clearing. It was covered with grass as high as my knees.Such a change in the land only added to my questions. I passed through the clearing and continued into the forest.

After about another 20 minutes, I reached the forest edge. It opened up to a rolling plain dotted with hills and small pools of water. I bent down next to one pool and drank. It was cool. I stood up and took a scan of the scenery. " Maybe there is life in this greenland" I thought.That question was immediatly answered as I caught a flicker of movment a little to my left. I jumped back, startled at the sudden shifting in that patch of grass. I quickly cooled down and went to observe. I reached the patch and, suddenly, a catlike animal jumped onto my hand! " Ahh" I screamed as the creature jumped onto my shoulder. I looked into it's face and saw that it was an animal of which I had never seen. It's face was dotted with wiskers, as a cat's would but it's eyes are what told me that it wasn't a cat. They were red, dark red. Also, it's ears, they were not pointed, no they didn't exist at all. It barred it's fangs. I shook with fear. Is this how my life will end? That question was soon answered as the creature jumped off my shoulder and ran into the forest. I stood there, motionless, trying to understand what had happend. " This world, what has it become?" I said trembiling. I ran ontop one of the various hills. I looked out into the open and something caught my eye. Smoke.

Smoke! Yes smoke! It was there! Just above the horizon! It drifted up into the sky in great amounts. " I'm not alone!" I thought excitingly! I ran for the smoke. After quite a distance, I saw what made the smoke, At first, it looked like a bare patch of dirt in the plains but as I got closer, I saw that there was movement inside it. A Town? Maybe a city! I thought. Soon, I could see exactly what it was, it was a fort. A light brown fort with massive spikes protruding from it's sides. I looked up with both excitment and fear. I walked around and found a way in. Rather, how to get it. A massive pair of doors. Both sealed shut.I walked up and, however foolish it may have seemed, knocked on the doors 3 times. The smoke stopped coming from above. I gulped. Then, the most horrible sound I had ever heard came from withing It was as if someone had rubbed 2 giant pieces of steel and rock together. But, I had an idea of what those sounds meant. The doors were opening!

I was right! The doors started pushing inward. When they were about halfway in, I saw things scurring about. Boom!!Came the sound as the doors stopped moving. I walked inside. No sooner had I walked 3 steps when I heard a whistling sound. By instinct, I quickly dashed to one side. About a second later, an arrow struck the spot I was on. I looked up, nothing. Right, nothing. Left, nothing. I scratched my head, trying to figure out where the arrow had come from. Suddenly, A voice. " Who goes there?" The voice, obviousy a man's, boomed. " I am but a traverler!' I responed. " I come in peace" I added on. I was not about to start making enemies. " A traverler?" The voice responded........silence............" Why have you come here" The voice said. " I am lost!" I responed. " I am new to this world. I know nothing of what this world has been through! So, please, can you answer my question?" " What is your question?" the voice said after a few moments. I gulped, hoping that my question would not anger them." Are you human?"..................A minute passed.......2........3.finally, the voice responded," Humans are long dead. We are what they consider an evolved spieces of them. We are Zien!" the voice boomed. " And," the voice added, " this is Ragnarok!"
