Welcome to the AnimeFuel Community Forums, I'm the owner of this website Demon fox and lucky for you I'm not here to use my ninja skills on yah, plenty of time for that later I assure you. Instead I'll be telling you a little about this place.
As you should be able to tell by now you are not registered with us as of yet and probably need a good reason to do so. Between you and I we both know you're a lazy bastard and so if you don't even want to listen to the rest of my introduction speech you may as well just go register.
Otherwise here's what you can do on our forums once you've registered. When you register you will be able to chit chat in our forums, entertain yourself with games and share videos with other members. The forums allows you to get access to free downloads shared by members, fast and direct support with video problems from members and staff and make anime requests which are priortized above anyone else's.
There are many more things you can do but our aim is to bring together a community of video fans where you can feel comfortable and make lots of friends around the world. God knows you need them.
So get your butt over to the registration page and join my I mean OUR community. Oh and one more thing watch out for a crazy guy with a gun he's wandering around somewhere in these pages and you'll probably see him if you become really slack with the forum.

lol corwin the visual aid is supposed to be your imagination. i personally think pics ruin the books. it deflates what you imagine the setting to be and limits your view

that is right when you consider a normal book, but manga not being normal the pictures are intended to help w/ the experience since the author doesn't have the time or space to give explanations on scenery or actions, a certain element of imagination is necessary even for those as it's essentially split frame animation

it comes in both, there's the magazine format like Shonen Jump which is a chapter or three of several manga's every month, or the tankoban versions which is like a small paperback book, and is put out every 2-4 months and is all one manga storyline, w/ a dozen or so chapters in it, depending on the manga and how fast you read, can take from 15min-1 1/2hrs to read one of those

no it doesnt corwin manga falls along the line of comic books well alot more involved i guess they would be a cross between books + comics but do to all the pics i d classify them as comics.

i personaly wouldnt count manga as books IMO but ya.. i agree pics do ruin detailed books such as harry potter and other novels

I agree that they fall a little more in line w/ comics than regular books, but at the same time they tend to have more graphic themes then your average comic which is why a lot of them come sealed in plastic, much like the fine selection of gentleman's magazines available
