Welcome to the AnimeFuel Community Forums, I'm the owner of this website Demon fox and lucky for you I'm not here to use my ninja skills on yah, plenty of time for that later I assure you. Instead I'll be telling you a little about this place.
As you should be able to tell by now you are not registered with us as of yet and probably need a good reason to do so. Between you and I we both know you're a lazy bastard and so if you don't even want to listen to the rest of my introduction speech you may as well just go register.
Otherwise here's what you can do on our forums once you've registered. When you register you will be able to chit chat in our forums, entertain yourself with games and share videos with other members. The forums allows you to get access to free downloads shared by members, fast and direct support with video problems from members and staff and make anime requests which are priortized above anyone else's.
There are many more things you can do but our aim is to bring together a community of video fans where you can feel comfortable and make lots of friends around the world. God knows you need them.
So get your butt over to the registration page and join my I mean OUR community. Oh and one more thing watch out for a crazy guy with a gun he's wandering around somewhere in these pages and you'll probably see him if you become really slack with the forum.
This message will self destruct once registration is completed.

I just wondered what everyone thought about this article on msn http://tech.msn.com/products/article...4058>1=10938 on the future of gaming, especially something like the pic at the top, see how everyone thinks gaming will evolve next and what it will be like 10 years from now

"You don't have to read a 30-page manual and memorize 17 button combinations to play 'Wii Sports.' If you know how to swing a tennis racket or throw a baseball, you're good to go."
Not once in my life have I EVER read a manual for any game, or memorized a 17 button combination for any game EVER. The only time you would really need a combination like that is in a fighting game. And even then, combo's usually end at 4-10 hit's if lucky. I found my Wii controller to miss "swing" then tennis racket in Wii Sports more then I've ever had to memorize a combo in a game. "PC games are going to grow in importance, especially for older, more educated gamers. After being widely dismissed as dead (or irrelevant at best) only five years ago, PC role-playing games have made a tremendous comeback." When did this happen? I never heard anything that said PC gaming was dead or irrelevant. 5 Years ago most of me and my buddies were playing CS along with 2.5 million other people at the time. 5 years ago I was playing Ultima Online along with 3 million other people. 5 Years ago I was playing Diablo 2: LOD along with maybe 2 million people. PC gaming never died, I don't like when people say things like this. People are still playing all those games I mentioned, along with Starcraft, WoW, Team Fortress, ect. I don't get it, someone explain to me when it died please? |

Lee, price won't always be the primary consideration, it's also a matter of games that appeal to a wide range of gamers, Wii just got lucky b/c it was innovative enough to catch ppl's eye, look at a few years ago when the Gamecube and the PS2 came out around the same time, despite the fact that the GC was a lot cheaper the PS2 won in spades for that contest, I think a lot of the trend away from the PS3 is b/c of their lack of major launch titles despite advertising, take MGS4 for instance, it was supposed to be out at or shortly after launch time to encourage gamers to purchase the system, instead they put out a $400-600 game package with only one or two well known brands, and a bunch of third party clones while at the same time pushing back the release dates for all the anticipated software, now when it's a matter of tweaking a game to make it that much better it's ok, but a lot of times that party line is just a flimsy excuse, a way of saying, I"m sorry we all got piss drunk and fell behind schedule, I think as the PS3 puts out more major titles, like MGS4 and FFXIII's 2 new titles, and the rumored new God of War, and maybe one or two other titles, we will see a drastic increase in the number of systems purchased, of course a drop in price like the recent one would help too, and of course Wii may go the way of the other Nintendo systems, having started out strong it will lose strength as they put out my 8yr old oriented software as opposed to appealing to the loyalists who have stayed w/ them since the days of Game&Watch, if they would put out even 4-5 more mature or at least expansive titles, a Nintendo RPG for instance on the lvl of the old classics like Chrono Trigger and Earthbound, as well as something that is only for the older crowd they might maintain their lead a little longer, but one more clone of DDR in the form of Britney's Dance Beat or some such nonsense will tank the system regardless of any ingenuity inspired by the controller, heck even put out some more good fps games like Metroid Prime: Corruption

I agree Corwin, The PS3 was really expensive when it came out, and there were manufacturing problems with them. and the new cheaper ones aren't backwards compatible are they? That can't help. Those original models suffer from some defects, and they didn't ship that many. I was stocking the the electronics section of a store that I will not mention, but is a major nationwide store, and this is one of the biggest ones in the region; and in the first three months we got maybe 10 PS3s in. the fact that they were so rare initially scared off game makers. I think there as actually one of those on the shelves when I got back one night. the Wii's were gone five minutes after we opened, as were the 360s.
And not only is the Wii cheap, its small. It's easy to move around and set up somewhere else, it can be sat next to the tv on the stand. it's completely backwards compatible with GC stuff, even the controllers. and you can get a bunch of the old NES titles for it on the virtual console thing. I would love to be able to play some of the games I grew up on again, legally. It has another strength in that it has some unique titles because of the unique controller, or at the very least titles that couldn't be easily ported. I've played all three now. And no the Wii isn't as graphically pleasing, but I think it's generally just more fun to play. and if Nintendo keeps putting out titles for mature gamers, but also for young gamers, it will be successful. Cuz if a system can attract 8 year olds and 18+ year olds, then they'll kill the competition that can't. |

"Most gamers don't require characters that look exactly like actors in a movie, and don't care how realistically blood splatters; they want to play great games." I'm sorry but I do like good graphics. I like the detail a developer puts into the game with how things look and move and interact. I agree that gamers want to play great games, but to me a great game should include great graphics. |
