Of course, if you buy it used and it stops working, you could torrent it. If they try to sue you, you tell them that you only have one copy of the game, as the original is just a coaster with a pretty picture on it. :D

As long as you get the used game from a reliable store you can return it if its damaged.

As for the torrent, as long as you have an authentic copy of the game, even if it doesn't work I don't think they can sue you.

actually they can. you don't have fair use rights in the USA. a copy of a game is illegal even if you own the game. because what you have bought is a single license of the game, not the right to make more. so if your copy is broken, then you should be able to make a new one without any problem

That doesn't make any sense. After they stop selling the game you can only buy it used, which doesn't net them anymore profit then if you get if off a torrent. Why the hell should they care?

Damn them. They shouldn't rely on lawsuits for profit. They sell games after all. They need a better selling plan so people don't turn to torrents.

No. I dont think I've bought anything since Homeworld 2. wait... 10 bucks for Sword of the Stars, which isn't bad for 10 (compusa closing sale). every time i look though, there just anything that catches my attention.
