What is love?

Love is a false human emotion that is created as a byproduct of loneliness. Humans can't stand to be lonely, they are afraid of being alone. So they seek out someone else to be their companion, someone who shall keep them company and make them feel better by saying kind words and doing things like hugging and kissing, and possibly grant them some sex. This love makes people greedy, causing them to make irrational decisions because they want the people for themselves. They might even do such things as get married or have children. Eventually, a conflict shall arise, as although humans seek companionship, they have problems keeping it (or they could just get bored). After this, they separate and after a period, the loneliness overtakes and the cycle begins anew.

Once one overcomes their inherent greedy desires to have companionship, they will have no need for this so-called love. Once one realizes how meaningless it all is, they will have no need. The feelings of happiness that may come about are merely temporary. People who are in love may object to this, but they know deep deep down that the only person whom one can truly and completely depend on and trust is yourself, and yourself alone.

This is my own definition of love

Love is defined in many ways:

Love is a union between two people or between something. When you love someone you respect the fact of oneness and dont claim that you own that person. Relationships based on dominance and submission are doomed to fail, yet when you love someone and respect them and know that they are there own person, the relationship will work. Love also lets someone go outside of them self, it is a doing word. For example a Man voleeters there time at a hospital for the elderly. He helps the Wheel chair bond outside, listens to a man who is a old war veteren and keep a widowed old women company by listens to her story about her grandchildren and her own children and her late husband. After those 3 hours a week he leaves feeling good of himself becuase someone eles got satisfaction, and made there lives more better. Love comes in all forms, sexual, sprititual, prenatal and such. When we are first created we are attached to our mothers womb and it is like we are one person. When we are born we become two people and as we get older we seek that comfort that womb provided. It was perfect temperature, warm and safe. So we seek that. When we find someone to love we can feel safe with them and you become one person. Love removes lonelines and provides “Shelter from the storm”. You have a person who lives in solitary comfinment, has no contact with the world, they are anti social and feel alone. Humans no matter what they say all fear one thing in common – being alone. Haveing someone will remove the lonelineness is someone;s or your selfs life. It dosent matter what you love, its the quility of love you provide. Example- An elderly lady lives in an apearment in the city, she has lost her husband, her four children have grown up and have families of there own, and she is retired. But she has a dog. She loves this dog with all her heart. She gets up every day to feed it, cuddle it, walk it and cuddle. Because she gets to walk this dog she has made friends with her neighbors who she never got to before. Becuase of this dog, it motivates her to get up every day and love it and provide for it. In return the dog loves her back and she gets positive results back. Love is not about haveing sex with someone. Its not about haveing one night stands, love is not coming home from work and wanting sex all the time. Love is when you take the time to realize the little things in life are important.

A difficult feeling that nobody seems to understand properly....

love is hard to explane and i don't think there can be a wrong answer. peoples views of the world are different. to me, love is when you can't stop thinking about a person, when you wish they were with you at all times, when you would rather cuddle up on the couch on a cold winter night infront of the fire place and just talk. i'm not one to talk about the physical parts of love, because i have yet to go through it, but i know when i do, it will be with that one person that i know i will spend the rest of my life with. and i am in no rush to find him--it's out fate that we will cross paths one day... not on my time, but on God's

Love is a funny little feeling that avoids logical definition. Over-analytical people might try to define it as having to do with the initial human desire for companionship or the transferring of "parent" figures onto another person in an attempt to regain the "love" with those who took care of them in early life.

I reject logic in the case of something so personal and subjective to our own experiences. Logic is about as good in this case as it is in persuading a poet that words are finite.

So, instead, we have poetics. We pretty the concept of "love" up because, when we have felt love without regret or hatred entwined, we know that it is indeed quite pretty. It's as natural as the trees in the forests, but not observable as anything other than an emotion or a concept. So we describe it as such, in the fluffiest ways possible.

I accept this ideal. And because of that, I think that love is a lot of things. It's the shaking nervousness when you move in for the first kiss, and the sweat dripping from your body in the heat of passionate lovemaking. It's not being able to help but smile every time you look into their eyes. It's putting time aside just to make them happy, and making them your top priority. It's letting them have the last of the ramen, because you'd rather starve before you saw them lose a single pound. It's trusting them even when you'd be a fool to do so. It's the shortage of breath and silence held between a kiss. It's embarrassing karaoke and the laughter shared immediately afterward. It's a comfortable silence, and a comfortable loudness. It's the way you find yourself unable to see them as anything other than beautiful, when nobody else understands what you see. It's being a martyr for time and happiness.

To put it simply, love is lust, passion and trust incarnate.

By that logic, lack of love is also a delusion, because it causes many people to desire it irrationally or reject it irrationally.

Further extending on that train of thought, you might as well call everything a delusion. Anything can change the way people see the world.
