Welcome to the AnimeFuel Community Forums, I'm the owner of this website Demon fox and lucky for you I'm not here to use my ninja skills on yah, plenty of time for that later I assure you. Instead I'll be telling you a little about this place.

As you should be able to tell by now you are not registered with us as of yet and probably need a good reason to do so. Between you and I we both know you're a lazy bastard and so if you don't even want to listen to the rest of my introduction speech you may as well just go register.

Otherwise here's what you can do on our forums once you've registered. When you register you will be able to chit chat in our forums, entertain yourself with games and share videos with other members. The forums allows you to get access to free downloads shared by members, fast and direct support with video problems from members and staff and make anime requests which are priortized above anyone else's.

There are many more things you can do but our aim is to bring together a community of video fans where you can feel comfortable and make lots of friends around the world. God knows you need them.

So get your butt over to the registration page and join my I mean OUR community. Oh and one more thing watch out for a crazy guy with a gun he's wandering around somewhere in these pages and you'll probably see him if you become really slack with the forum.

This message will self destruct once registration is completed.

I'm also a Styx fan.
Styx, Bob Seger... what else Rocks? well everything mainstream Rock/Hard Rocks that's what. Hey if this keeps up we all could make a list of band's songs to have. ^^

i say the 70's is the cut-off line for "oldies-but-goodies" and even though i'm into better music now, i still enjoy elvis, buddy holly, the big bopper, etc. on occasion... it can't be old unless it's at least 30 years (i'm speaking mearly of music) thought i don't listen to them much as the music is too simple for me now... and waaaay too happy. it actually depresses me it's so happy. but if someone has some good oldie on i won't complain.

Ah, well, most of my favorites seem to fall under what people call "classic rock," yes...but that's not to say I don't enjoy some modern rock and 90s material as well.

But yeah, my favorite band ever is Led Zeppelin. Has been ever since I heard "The Ocean." I now own all of their albums and rock out to at least one of them almost every day.

Other favorites that are "old": The Doors, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Van Halen, Blue Oyster Cult, Rush, Queen, Electric Light Orchestra, Deep Purple, Marc Cohn, Tom Petty (solo and with The Heartbreakers), The Eagles, The Who, America, Boston...

You know, I'll just stop there. There's way too many old acts I listen to for me to sit here and name them all.

Oh, and I'm talking about 70's ROCK. Not Metal. Metal sucks.
Sure they do. Listen to The Black Keys and tell me they don't sound like a 70s blues-rock band.

Also, ouch, poor metal fans. Metal is a form of rock, you know. I personally like some 80s heavy metal pioneers like Iron Maiden and Megadeth. And of course the ever-popular Metallica.

i think it's fair to say that Iced Earth, Hammerfall Dream Evil, Demons And Wizards, Blind Guardian, Masterplan, Nocturnal Rites, etc. would like a word with oyu on that stereotypical statement

you can find their vids and songs on youtube, just do a search. or i'll post 'em for ya if you're interested

also some bands don't SCREAM they growl. and most of the time the words are understandable if you are reading the lyrics WHILE listening to the song (bands like Amon Amarth, Ancient [fin], God Dethroned, Destroyer 666, Novembers Doom, Hollenthon, Naglfar [swe], etc.) growl, but they do not scream, it just takes some getting used to for some people..... those bands also have vids on youtube to chekc out if you're interested in something different than mainstream garbage (imo)

if you want info on said bands (lyrics, albums, band info, etc.) visit www.metal-archives.com please let me know what you think of the bands i mentioned (after listening to a few songs, that is)

The Fonze: "Whoa-ooh"

This is and wasn't my Idea to admit extreme genres here, you do know "Metal" isn't a Classic Rock type, this thread was made to talk about classics and good ol' Hard Rock like Led Zepplin, Kiss, and AC/DC. not metal or damn punk music. props to them them because they will get their own thread cause they don't belong here and seriously Metallica? you're nuts for even thinking that. Geez, this is thread made for Rock/Hard Rock only Via 1945-1990 exactly, so please go take your dammed dreary Metal and daft Punk junk elsewhere. They are not mainstream Classic Rock- they are cult genres (Metal Heavy Metal, Punk, Daft Punk, ect. are cult genre).

Also I love Buddy Holly/Holiday, he died in a plane crash, its a tragic thing he was taken from his life so early, but he created the the song: "peggy sue" ^^

I don't mean to be offensive, but you should probably read up on genres a bit..."classic rock" is not a real genre. It's just a radio term. All it means is "rock music from the 1950s to the 1980s." If you listen to a classic rock station, sure, they usually won't play Metallica or something, but they will play The Clash, which is a punk band.

Metal and punk both fall under rock from 1945 to 1990. And you know, I wasn't really trying to include them in this thread. I was just mentioning that I enjoy them on the side.

You don't need to overreact and go bashing other people's tastes. That's sort of rude.

Oh, and I quite enjoy Buddy Holly as well. Peggy Sue is indeed a great song. My other 50s favorites are The Everly Brothers, Bo Diddly, and Bill Haley.

oh, and by the way... not all metal sub-genres are "extreme" just depends on the band. most power metal isn't extreme (for example)

For me, I figure if it's old enough for a history book, it can be considered old and 20 yrs. is the cut-off for history text books, so music from the 80s, I would still consider old, not to mention all the changes that have happened in popular music that make that 20 yr. gap seem even longer.

By the way, Dragon_Of_, just to let you know, you aren't really supposed to double post. You can just click the edit button and add more to the first one.
