Angel Dressed In Yellow

Before you read a poem of mine I guess it might help for you to get to know me a bit hehe. I don't usually write, nor am i often in a poetic mood, but I am someone very susceptible to deep thought and evocative emotion when combined with the right circumstances. Basically, when i feel, i feel alot.

This poem was inspired by a very very close friend of mine, a lady who has always been there for me and has always been a big part of my life in getting through very tough emotional times. I dedicate to her.


She appeared to me . . so casually,

Sat next to me, in shade of tree.

So soft she sat . . on softer grass.

So slow she fell as leaves of past.

Every bit of her like nature,

Fine as petals . . if roses made her.

Graced with pauses even by the wind,

Chary to pass at every patch of skin.

But longer were the pauses when

I turned my head . . and saw her then.

The fiery strands that blessed her head,

Bold as the sun . . but cool instead.

Eyes that make you wish you'd died,

In hopes, in Heaven, more you'd find.

Lips that rose and fell with every breath,

That in turn drew no crave for death,

But mimicked every washing wave,

That broke the still . . and tempo gave,

For every passing breeze to blow,

The blind but grateful grass below

A body only a thousand years,

And toiling chisels washed with tears,

Could form with every artful strike,

Filled with passion, love, and fervent might.

So lost my eyes had left my mind,

When gentle hand of hers touched mine.

And gracious embrace that warmed this part,

Brought warmer a feeling to my dormant heart.

That born, not of plants, but clouds was she,

And from another world must be.

She'd not walked leagues to be at my side,

But set foot there, after airy stride,

To give me warmth of familiar touch,

She'd left her wings, her free heart's crutch.

To let go her mind and blazing veil,

Her halo had she cast into the gale.

And on her white gown had been stained,

The shattered crown, least what remained.

Here had sat, not a beautiful fellow,

But an Angel, dressed in yellow.
