They wouldn't, to be honest this sounds like one of those scare tactic platforms that politicians use to garner support for their campaigns, video games and sex and violence on tv have been done to death, so now they are using anime as the wicked tool that dehumanizes our children and causes them to do stupid stuff

I agree, it sounds ridiculous. But I have been hearing a lot of talk lately about buying less from China to help reduce the trade deficit. I think it is stupid and improbable, but bringing Japan into this mix is the only reason I could see for banning anime.

But who cares? I bet more people would watch it if it was banned XD

just like I said before, it's true, you tell ppl that can't watch anime b/c it's getting banned and it will be Prohibition all over again, I don't see how they think they could enforce it, b/c legal drinking, driving, and smoking ages are so well enforced....
