It depends on the zombie type whether there will be mobs.
If they are the kind that can follow the behavior of the zombies around them(dawn of the dead, the mob gathering outside the mall because others were), or the type that follow what the rest of the zombies are doing only if it is because they were exposed to the same stimulus to create that behavior(High School of The Dead, zombies all rushing to a sound if they herd the sound).

I did think of the food problem when I saw the picture too. But the first thing that popped into my head as a possible solution was little more that smart zombies trying to kill the food before eating it(cannibals)

Well I though of something.
If the population of the house was large enough to maintain it we could set up a green house inside of the house.
There goes food problem. Now what about water?

And I had the feeling these zombie were more like land of the dead. The less they see of the living the more they learn and try to become living once again.

For a greenhouse, 2 people could manage to grow enough food for 10 or so people fairly easily. The problems come in when you notice that the building is a bunker with a cement roof, and that the building is too small to grow enough food for even 2 people on a sustainable level.

For water we would need a system to collect rain water and, morning dew. We would need this because while urine does contain nitrogen and nitrogen is good for plants at lower levels. It has so much in it that it can kill plants.

What about going to a farming area and find a farmhouse with a decent portion of land and surrounding it with a 15ft high chainlink fence?(I havent seen land of the dead, can the zombies in it climb tall fences?)

That building looked big enough to have uv lights and a big enough garden to sustain atleast 5, including the 2 doing the work. *hides carrot in pocket for later*

That was what I was thinking, a little mixed in with the rain water would go far for our plants, but to much in one dosage and we would surely just be killing ourselves in the long run. Dead plants = dead us.

That would work, but the fence would have to be fortified with concrete, and tall enough in case of like zombie dogs or something. In land of the dead, there was a zombie leading the zombie pack with a gun, close to the end he learned how to use it. So that is why i picked the concrete. I didnt see them climb anything over 4 ft. So i think we would be good. As long as we wouldnt run into any Resident evil zombies. Cause if so we would be fucked.

Hmmm, uv lights might be a good idea, except most of the things being done(fortifying the place) are taking place probably days after the proverbial shit has hit the fan, and now the problems with creating a safe haven have increased exponentially.

Instead of concrete walls, plywood walls covered on the outfacing side in sheet metal, to keep the zombies(and hounds) from seeing the food inside.

Would we need to make the whole place up off the ground for resident evil zombies, or are they nonexistent in this apocalypse.
