Game Devs offering out their games free??

A couple of days ago I found out that Bestheda Works, developers of a one of my favorite RPG series, Elder Scrolls, is offering out their second game in the series, Daggerfall. That's not all though. Tonight, I found out that MechWarrior 4 by developers Smith & Tinker will also be offered out free in the news few days. Recently I saw another game which I believe was a flight sim game being offered free because it was paid for by the U.S. Air Force as an attempt at recruitment.

This is a bit of an iddity, since these free titles will probably garner up quite a few downloads, but it's not very profitable. So, you have to think that this could be for publicity and marketing. A 5th Elder Scrolls title has been confirmed, and a new Mech Warriors title is coming soon as well. But, I guess so long as it's free, right?

Yes! I miss playing Elder Scrolls. Do you know if they'll have Morrowind out or no? Perhaps not since that was a big hit. >.>

Yeah, I kinda doubt it; Two expansion packs, it was PC game of the year, and it tells you just how big the core game is in that Daggerfall link, so it'd be difficult getting the whole game in downloadable format. If they put it onto Steam then it may be possible but I can't see Morrowind being offered for free regardless.

Well that sucks donkeyballs. Daggerfall was good, and I liked it, just not as much as Morrowind. *sigh*
