~[ Osora's Legacy ~]
(Whoot! Another story that I came up with. I had to write this for class.)
The night sky was a navy blue/black color that night. It was clear in the night there was a few stars in the sky. The stars were neatly dotted, shinning like little diamonds. There was one star in the sky, it was a cyan blue color and it stood out from all the others. The city was quiet, not a car in sight and not a person around. The only sound that could be heard was the odd flickering sound of the lamp post.
In the window still of a small pawn shop, there was a pretty, well kept golden heart shaped pendent. On the front of the pendent ,carved in little white diamonds there was an “O”. The pendant it self was on a little gold chain. The little diamonds on the pendent shine was bright like the stars.
The shadowy figure of a young boy walked past the shop. His tail swaying behind him, his head was covered by a black hood. His eyes then caught the glimpse of the pendant. He stopped walked and stared at it for a second.
“hmmmm...perfect,” He though
He kept on looking at the pendant. Then he glanced at the price tag that read “$186.00” . He smiled a little and turned around the corner and walked up the street. He stopped when he came to a nicely, sized house. It was a brownish bricked There was a lovely flower garden in the front of the house. There was one row of roses, one row of lilacs and many other rows of different colored flowers. There was also a balcony, located outside a room, whose window was open.
He sniffed the air. The welcoming, pleasant scent made him smile. He walked towards the front door and opened it slowly. He then flipped his hood of his head, revealing his soft brown eyes and shoulder length red hair. On top of his head was a pair of black dog-like ears.
“Coast is...” he began in a light whisper.
“Where have you been?!” A lady's voice called from the kitchen that was across the hall.
He froze up when he heard the lady's voice. Stepping inside the house he looked down the hall to see a young lady in the late 20's. She had long red hair and the most stunning of blue eyes. On top of her head there was a pair of black furred dog ears, behind her there was a long furred dog like tail.
The young boy removed his hooded jacket and hung it up on a coat hanger that he had grabbed from the closet that was located near the front door. He then hung his jacket in the closet and closed the door over a little and looked at the lady again, and then he sighed.
“Kaiza, were have you been? It's 10pm, your curfew is at 9...”
“Mom, I was...I was just walking around town,”
“It's not safe for a 12 year old boy to be roaming the streets at night,”
“Mom, nothing is going to happen…”
“Never say nothing will happen, life has a way of sneaking up on you when you least expects it,”
“Yeah Yeah I know. Where is Seala and Luna?”
“Seala is upstairs in her room and Luna is in her room, playing wth Star. And supper is just about to be ready,”
“What's for supper?” Kaiza asked, walking into the kitchen who was fallowed by his mother.
“Chocolate flavoured oatmeal with orange juice. And if you would like a snack before bed then there is apply slices or strawberries,” The mother said, opening the fridge, removing the jug or orange juice.
Kaiza walked looked at the table and smiled, noticing it was not set yet. He nodded his head once and then he decided that he was going to help her. He walked over to the cupboard that was next to the fridge and opened it. He reached up and lifted down five bowls and placed them on the counter. He closed over the door and walked over to the table and neatly sat them at each spot at the table.
“Kaiza, I will set the rest of the table, can you please call your sisters and brother?”
Kaiza walked out off the kitchen and down the hall. He passed a small table that was in the hall. The table was wooden with little carved markings in it. In the center of the table there was a vase of flowers. Five fresh red roses stood in the vase, and in the center of them all was one white rose. On wall too the left of the vase there was a beautiful, stunning framed photograph of there parents when they got married. The father Jessie, a young man, handsomely dressed in a black tux had his hands around the waist of his new bride and his lips were resting on her cheek. The mother Aki, a young lady beautifully dressed in a white dress had her head resting against the chest of her new husband. Their smiles were bright and happy. The picture was so perfect that just looking at the photo you can feel their love and see it in their eyes. On the table in a little photo frame there was a beautifully taken photograph of Kaiza and his twin sister when they were babies. On the wall, to the right of the vase there was another stunning framed photograph. This was the wedding picture of their Aunt Kyiona and Uncle Clayton. Once again this picture was filled with love as the couple in the photo were locked in a pose. His arms around her waist, her arms around his neck, their lips locked in a small, loving kiss. Finally, the picture that was sitting right in front of the vase was a small photo. In the photo was a young girl who was dressed in a lovely white dress, that had small blue flowers on it. Around her neck was a gold pendant that complimented her dress. Her hair was long, wavy black and her eyes were bright, stunning emerald green color. She had a bright and lovely smile. On the photograph at the bottom, there were lettering that read “Osora – Age 16 and a half, 2 months pregnant”
Kaiza walked to the stairs, which were located across from the front door. He walked up a few stairs and stopped.
“Seala, Luna, Star, come down, supper is ready,”
He walked over back down the stairs and into the kitchen were mother was just putting out the food in the bowls. The orange juice was already poured into the glasses. Kaiza took his seat at the table and waited for his siblings to come downstairs.
About two minutes later a small boy about the age of four came trotting into the kitchen. He had blue eyes and blond hair that was marked with red streaks. Just like his mother and brother he had black ears and a tail. His name was Star. He had his arms high in air and taking giant steps, as if he was pretending to be a monster.
“Rawrrrrr I am a big scary demon and I am going to eat you all, rawr!!!”
Aki walked over to him and lifted him up and nuzzled her nose against his, then kissed his cheek and walked over to were the table was and sat him down in a chair.
“Kaiza, have you been telling your brother stories again?” She asked looking at him.
“No mother...it must have been Luna or Seala,”
Two more minutes passed and girl, the same age of Kaiza walked into the room. Seala, his twin born 3 minutes before him. Her appearance resembled the lady that was in the photograph in front of the vase. Long wavy black hair with beautiful green eyes. Only difference was she had a red furred tail and red furred ears. She smiled and looked around before she sat next to her twin. Lastly a younger girl walked into the room. She was around the age of 8 years old. She had bright beautiful blue eyes and very blond hair. Her name was Luna. Her ears and tail were also very blond colored. Her hair was neatly pulled back behind a pink hair band. She was dressed a white shirt, with a blue and white checkered colored skirt. She walked over to the table and sat down very politely. The mother looked at her kids and smiled as they all began to eat.
“Mother, today at school was SOOOOO much fun!” said Luna in a very happy voice.
“Well that’s good, I take it you had fun with Taleah?” Aki asked.
“YES!!! It was fun having family day at school, I have pictures and everything.”
“Well, its good that you have fun with your cousin today,”
Aki smiled at her and then looked around at her other children. Luna then reached into her pocket, pulled out a photograph and handed it to her mother. In the photo there was herself, and a girl who looked a year younger than her. The little girl had brown hair with blond markings in it. Her eyes were blue and she had brown wolf ears and tail, with blond tips. The two little girls had bright smiles on their faces and they were hugging each other.
“Awww, that’s a lovely picture of you and Taleah,” Aki said with a light smile on her face.
“I know, I am so happy we hung out in school all day,” Responded Luna
“Now why can't you and KC get along like that Kaiza?” She asked, turning her attention to Kaiza.
“Because KC is fixed on the idea of following in his father's footsteps,” Kaiza responded in an annoyed voice.
“His personality sure is showing more these days,” Seala said looking at her mother
“Yeah, ever since he turned 13 all he talks about is how is going to be just like his father,”
“ Well, regardless of that, he is your cousin, so you guys have to get along sometime,” Aki said finishing up her oatmeal.
“Yeah...I know,” Kaiza said, sighing.
“You know, I found out today that your Aunt is two months pregnant,” Aki said looking around at the table.
“What? Again…she just gave birth 14 months ago…and they are having another kid so soon?”
“Well… it happens…they celebrated there 12th year anniversary two months ago and well, one thing leads to another and now she is expecting,”
“Oh that’s awesome! Another cousin!” Seala said happily.
“Oh yes…its so wonderful…another cousin,” Kaiza responded with an unenthusiastic, sarcastic tone in his voice.
About half an hour passed and conversation between the family was dying down. It was getting late and it was time for bed. Aki kissed her kids good night and tucked the little one in by reading him a bed time story. Everyone fell asleep quickly and she went downstairs to sit on the couch and read a book.
The clock struck 11pm and she looked up and smiled. She knew within a few minutes her husband would return home and hug her to him, tell her how much he loved herm then they would cuddle up on the couch and fall asleep. She enjoyed life, it was peaceful. She got up walked into the kitchen to clean up some of the dishes that were left from before. Suddenly she felt someone's arms around her neck and she froze up a little, only to smile a second later. She recognized the scent.
“Surprised you again, didn't I, Aki?” A man's voice spoke from behind.
“Yes you did, Jessie” The lady responded in a small voice.
Aki turned around to look up into the eyes of the man she loved. His soft brown eyes smiled back into hers as he pulled her against him and smiled. She smiled and nuzzled up against him. The couple stayed like that for a few minutes. Lost in each others hold. After a couple of minutes of this, Jessie took her hand and lead her over to the couch were he sat down and pulled her onto his lap, wrapping his arms around her waist. Aki rest against him.
“ What did the doctor say?” Jessie asked.
“We will find out tomorrow,” Aki responded.
“The same day as our 13th year anniversary?” He asked, with a smile on his face.
“Yup, the same day. What a wedding gift that would be,”
The couple stayed close to each other. Their love with one another warmed up the room, and filled it with joy and happiness. They each completed the other's life. Their love and devotion to each other was shown though the little moments in life.
Mnwhile upstairs, Luna was looking down on them watching them with a smile on her face.
“Its not nice to spy on people,” Kaiza said, calling from behind.
“Oh I Know..but I can't help it..they are so..”
“I know what you mean...that is why I think they deserve the best anniversary present that we can give them,”
“We already got dad something,”
“And I know what I want to get mom, I saw it today...”
“You did? Were! I wanna see...”
“Okay, how about this. Tomorrow you can come with me to the store were I saw it,”
“I would love too!!”
“Okay then., get some rest and we will leave in the morning,” Kaiza said standing to his feet and helping Luna up.

The very next morning, the sun was shining high in the sky, and there was not a cloud out. There was a nice morning breeze and the air was fresh. Seala had taken Star to the park and the parents were out for the day. Luna had just gotten ready to leave and was waiting for Kaiza to step outside. He was inside finishing up when suddenly he got a weird feeling. He looked up at the pictures on the table. It was as if they were trying to tell him something, but he was unable to determine what. He sighed and shook his head and stepped outside.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, lets go,” Kaiza said, taking Luna's hand and starting to walk.
They walked down the street that was across from the pawn shop. After they crossed the street they entered the shop. The door slowly made a creaking sound as they stepped in slowly. The place looked old and smelled old also. Luna hugged Kaiza's arm, scared, she didn’t like the look of the place. Kaiza nodded and he walked over, picked up the pendent and walked to the front counter. No one was there, but there was a small bell. Kaiza placed his hand over it, and rang it twice.
About one minute later a middle aged man walked out from behind a curtain that separated the front of the shop, from the back. He looked around slowly to see who was there, and then his eyes caught the attention of the two kids. He gave a small smile and walked over to the counter. Kaiza walked up to the man and placed the pendant on the counter.
“I would like to buy this pendant,” He said in a low voice.
The man did not give any response. He just simply smiled and took the necklace and wrapped it in a lovely box. Luna looked at the man and then she handed him the money and lifted up the box. The man handed back the change and he nodded his head once, the two turned to walk away.
“Do you know the story behind that pendant?” The man asked, before they could leave.
Kaiza and Luna both stopped walking and they turned to look at the man. They then looked at the box and at one another. To them it looked like a regular pendant, one that didn’t have any history behind it. Kaiza shock his head.
“That pendant came into my possession 28 years ago. The night was rainy and the wind was fierce, I was just closing up the shop for the night when the door blew open. A man and women, who I later found out were named Marina and Jameson, were standing in the hall way of the door. I explained to them that the stone was closed for the evening but then the women broke down in tears. I then learned that there daughter had been killed, and there grand daughter had been taken away. They told me that there daughter loved this necklace very much and that they hoped it went to someone special. I never saw them again after that…”
Kaiza and Luna looked at the man with sad eyes. This necklace had so much meaning to a family and here they though it was just an ordinary necklace. The man smiled at them.
“Is that necklace for someone special?” He asked.
“Our mother…its our parents 13th year wedding anniversary,” Kaiza responded.
“I can tell that it is going to someone special then,” he gave a soft smile, bowed his head to them and then walked into the backroom.
Kaiza and Luna both left the shop and started to walk down the street. They both couldn’t get the story of the pendant out of there head. It was now around noonish and they were starting to get hungry. So they both decided to head on home. They decided that they would take a short cut thought a forest that lead straight to street across from their house. They walked for a few hours, looking around at the trees and the wild life and the scenery and the beauty of everything that was the forest. Everything was going good until they stopped and turned to look at one tree.
“Kaiza…we passed this part already..” Luna said looking around.
“I…yeah I know..It’s umm…this way.” Kaiza said taking his sisters hand and leading her deeper into the forest.
“They walked for another hour or so before they came upon a field of flowers and a hill, with a tree and a river. Kaiza looked around. They had never been here before. Luna looked around and now tears were forming her eyes.
“Kaiza we’re lost! You got us lost! Now mom and dad will be worried!!” She cried out though her tears.
“Hey Luna, it’s okay don’t cry, calm down”
“But we are lost! And I have no clue how to get out of here and we will be forgotten and we will live here alone and never get out of here,”
“Luna, Luna its okay. Here lets sit down for a minute,” Kaiza put his arm around Luna and pulled her down to sit next to him.

The two sat there for hours until it was night. They though of ways how to escape and what way the could go. It was now night time and the stars once again were shinning brightly. Once again, there was that cyan colored star shining in the sky.
“Do you want to hear a story?” Kaiza asked.
“Sure,” Responded Luna.
“That cyan star in the sky, it’s special to our parents,”
“Yes, the night mom and dad met, that start was shinning in the sky, the first time they spend a night under the stars, that star was shining bright, when mom and dad got married, it was shinning. The star became known as their star, and every time I look at it, I just can’t help but smile and think on how happy they are,”
Before Luna could give a response she sat up and looked around. She had seen a shadowy figure in the corner of her keen eyes. She stood up and looked around more. Kaiza sensed that someone was close by. He stood and stepped in front of Luna and growled. About 30 seconds later an elderly lady stepped out of the shadows. She looked up at them and it made both of them freeze up. The look, the stare in her eyes. They were so empty and filled with loneliness and her skin was as pale as the snow.
“Do not be afraid young child, I bring no harm,” She spoke, her voice soft and warm.
“Who are you, and why are you here!” Kaiza shouted.
“I am the one who walks these forests, looking for her lost son,” She said lightly.
“Lost son?” Luna asked.
“My darling little Ryu, he was in a battle, he never returned home…after that my husband left me and he never returned. I now wander the forests of this city, looking to be reunited with my child,”
“You mean…your husband abandoned you and now you spend each waking minute of your life, looking for your child?” Luna asked.
“Yes child, I know my Ryu is around here somewhere,” She said, her eyes filled with sadness, but sincere.
“If you want to get out of the forest, then go back the way you came, make two lefts, and a right and another left. Then you will be able to make it out of here,” She spoke again.
Kaiza stood up and took Luna’s hand and turned to leave.
“Hey, thank you..” Kaiza began
He turned to thank the old lady, but when he turned there was no one there. Only the trees and the grass and the flowers and the moon and the river were there. No old lady. It was as if she was never there.
Kaiza and Luna ran though the forest, following the directions that they were told. Within the hour they were out of the forest and standing in front of there home. They both smiled and ran though the front door. They didn’t make it into the house before they were greeted by there mother, hugging them tightly and crying. There father was holding Star in his arms who was crying and Seala was drying off some tears. The whole thing started to make Luna cry.
“My babies, I was worried about you, I though something had happened,” Aki said, though her tears, holding them both.
“Mom..we are sorry..we went out and..” Luna began.
“It’s my fault. I was the one who decided that we were going to go though the forest to get home,” Kaiza interrupted, saying to his mother.
“I don’t care..your home safe and sound now..”
Luna and Kaiza both looked at each other and nodded. Together they handed over the pendant to their mother and smiled. Aki looked at the box questionably and then opened it slowly. Her eyes widened when she saw what it was.
“What is it love?” Asked Jessie, walking over to his wife and looking at the necklace.
“Mother..” Aki responded standing up and walked over to the table were all the photos were.
She picked up the photograph of the young girl in the pretty dress and looked at the pendant around her neck. It was marked with an “O” just like the one she had just received. Tears formed up her eyes and she smiled.
“This necklace…belonged to my mother, and now it has came back to me,” She said holding the necklace close to her heart.
Jessie walked to Aki and placed his arms around her waist. He leaned in and kissed her lips and smiled. Aki smiled and kissed him back.
“Happy 13th anniversary love,” He said.
“Happy 13th anniversary love,” She responded
Jessie held Aki close and smiled. Aki smiled happily, her eyes filled with emotions of happiness, love. She stared of into the distance, and just smiled. Nothing could make this day more perfect.
Suddenly the phone rang, but no one answered it. No one wanted to ruin the moment that was taking place. It rang till the answering machine came on.
“Hello, Its Dr. Kwoliah, the pregnancy results came back positive,”
