I have to agree........ And I hope none that have spoken against euthanasia are ever in a situation like those that I feel deserve the option. Life is worth living but some times the pain of a slow death or a chronic disease is to much.

Here's a much cheaper alternative to the "suicide kit":

1 rope tied in a noose.

That's all you need! Now find a hook on a ceiling somewhere and do your thing.

Hahah! Well the reason I didn't agree with the idea is that euthanasia can be done simply. No need for a freaking suicide kit. His effort makes me think that all he wants is some popularity for doing crazy inventions... Also, this suicide kit might be dangerous for attracting others to suicide when they should not.

I think suicide is the cowards way out. I win, you lose....that's the debate lol, don't argue because if life is the crappiest thing ever, you're just bailing and cowardly to quit.

If some depressed idiot wants to kill himself then that's fine too. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I think people should only kill themselves if they lost everything they had and had nothing to live for. But you shouldn't kill yourself if there are things to live for.

For example I take meds for depression and I've tied the noose a few times but when I'm about to slip it over I begin think about all the people who would miss me. Like my teachers, my Mom, my cats Angel and Kiri. And the Volkswagon that I swore I'd get running for my dad who didn't live long enough to get it running would just rot away in the garage.

No one should have the right to cause someone that much grief and sadness unless all that you cared for passed away.

well i think you are right and good for living, but this is about people who wish to die because of their age or painful/indignity of their situation, and the family may already be saddened and in grief from the situation.

and with what you said about your situation, I feel I should say that I hope that you live a long life and never give in when you feel depressed.

Exactly the point I've been arguing. Thank you for putting in better terms Than I could. If your life is more painful for you and your family than your continued life, you should have the option of a quick painless death.

As for coma patients, after six weeks the chances of ever coming out of it decrease significantly. And only drop further every day. In contrast to the chance of recovery, your chance of brain damage increases by the same amount. Knowing that, I feel it is up to the family to decide when and if to terminate care and life support (if there is any) NOT anyone else.

And Mikesword, stay strong. Your reasons for not being a coward are the same that kept me alive a few years ago. They changed after a couple friends of mine took the easy way out. I saw what it did to their family and friends, And know I know what my family and friends would go through. I would not wish that kind of misery on anyone.
