Welcome to the AnimeFuel Community Forums, I'm the owner of this website Demon fox and lucky for you I'm not here to use my ninja skills on yah, plenty of time for that later I assure you. Instead I'll be telling you a little about this place.

As you should be able to tell by now you are not registered with us as of yet and probably need a good reason to do so. Between you and I we both know you're a lazy bastard and so if you don't even want to listen to the rest of my introduction speech you may as well just go register.

Otherwise here's what you can do on our forums once you've registered. When you register you will be able to chit chat in our forums, entertain yourself with games and share videos with other members. The forums allows you to get access to free downloads shared by members, fast and direct support with video problems from members and staff and make anime requests which are priortized above anyone else's.

There are many more things you can do but our aim is to bring together a community of video fans where you can feel comfortable and make lots of friends around the world. God knows you need them.

So get your butt over to the registration page and join my I mean OUR community. Oh and one more thing watch out for a crazy guy with a gun he's wandering around somewhere in these pages and you'll probably see him if you become really slack with the forum.

This message will self destruct once registration is completed.

Default "piracy"

internet piracy. downloading files via peer to peer technology for free.
as some of you know the owners of the pirate bay are being sued for this very thing. so is it wrong or is it just sharing.

my oppinion: remember when they said tv would kill cinema. the radio music. vhs the movie theater. so called piracy only cuts out a small portion of the recording companies profit. has a major movie star or artist ever gone broke due to file sharing. no, and they most likely never will. the comic on the front of the pirate bay says it good enough. by the laws they want us to follow you would have to go through massive paperwork to let your friends listen to your music. ever let a friend borrow a movie. piracy! ever copied a cd onto more than one media device? piracy!

IMHO its absolutely rediculous. i doubt everyone in hollywood will go flat broke if some people dont pay for a song or 12.

I think it's pure bullshit. They don't get that it's sharing, and it's not going to hurt anyone. I bet you, that if you go to a movie star or a musician in a private conversation, no "big brother", that they don't care, as long as they get paid -- which they do, since people still buy music. Oh no, they're losing $12! It's such a horrible thing! In my opinion, the government needs to get that plug out of their ass and lighten up on this piracy thing.

In my good ole' sh*t country: Internet piracy is totally 100% legal as long as you do not download Pop music (Britney spears in the 90's) which nobody really cares much about.

Well just sharing any old file isn't piracy, it would have to be copyrighted in some sort of way which basically means if you didn't completely create the file you are sending, you are a terrorist who deserves to be gunned down in cold blood by the RIAA.

And when they say pirating cuts profits from the industry - it's not really making the industry lose money. They can't lose what they never got. If someone buys a movie and makes a copy of it and gives it to me, the industry isn't going into the negative any - they just aren't gaining anything from that copy. This is their definition of them losing money, when it is simply them not gaining any more than they have. If you find a DVDrip on the internet, someone somewhere had to buy that DVD/CD at some point in order to rip it so hey they got a DVD or CD sale out of it yeah? Obviously people are still buying their stuff or they would have stopped selling it.

But they hold the rights to this stuff, so they can flaunt this power. Hell, who wouldn't want to try and expunge as much money as they possibly can from people if they have the power to? I don't blame them for wanting to sue people for the sake of getting sweet sweet money, it makes the world go 'round.

meh if you're just sharing it and not making a profit off of it then why raise a fuss over it.

Let's be clear about something. The sharing of copyrighted material is illegal and wrong to do.

And I don't give a damn. Yarrrrrrr I'm a pirate.

The problem is that big business is so caught up in The Way Things Were that they haven't been able to keep up with the fast moving world of the internet. They constantly struggle to limit the abilities of the internet even while record stores are closing down left and right, instead of spending their billions of monies trying to figure the best way to utilize it. Sooner or later it'll happen of course, it's just the natural progression of things. People have and always will find ways to get things which are meant to make money free instead, but the bigger the stigma against it and the more it's talked about the more people will partake in such activities.

The whole thing feels immediately greedy to me--but I suppose if the sort of thing had a chance to evolve freely, it could eventually be an issue. Truth be told, I don't blame them, I wouldn't act differently if I were in their position.
That's not to say I'm innocent either--I only just started actually "buying" my songs today. New album called Dear Science...I had a gift card, so I figured I'd do it legitimately. All I'm saying is that this thing has a chance to get out of hand. I'll wave a flag for order--but at the same time I'd burn it if I would be picked to get caught.

Artists don't lose money out of piracy, it's the companies that lose profits. That's about all. They lose out of profits, that in turn reflect poorly for shareholders, and all those people affiliated who have too much money, as a result of taking money earned by artists in the first place, end up getting upset that their overwhelmingly large bank account isn't as big as it should be. I don't feel bad when somebody can't afford the big yacht and has to settle on the deluxe mid-sized 30 footer.
That's easy enough to say for the music and movie industry, but piracy manages to plague everything affiliated with computers. This means that software is a prime target as well. If I were going to feel for anyone it'd be software makers. They not only have to deal with piracy, but cracks and key generation to break through the security of their software. So the money that they spend away on developing the next foolproof means of safe guarding their product from piracy (which is piracy in this case, it's not sharing) is inevitably wasted every time they create a new version. That's not to say that most software companies aren't swimming in money either, but they actually suffer greater consequence and can legitimately claim they've been robbed. Whereas a record company, if given the legal bypass, would likely try and collect on somebody playing one of their songs at a party where multitudes of people hear it, but haven't purchased it. Hyperbole? maybe.

And I am a pirate, Ryu, but not that kind...my ship doesn't have wheels on the back and ride on a street (wtf?)
