Fue And Naranai

Snow began to fall as a snowflake landed on Saki’s hand when she held it out flat. It wasn’t a snowflake…there were two creatures with black and deep green wings. Both had pink eyes. The one with the flute and had the deep green wings held out a voodoo doll that grew to the size of a Chihuahua and a white sign hung from the china dolls mouth that read ‘hello’ in Japanese calligraphy. The doll giggled and it popped, then it was gone.

Saki stared, blinked her eyes a couple of times, and then replied, “Um…hello.”

The creature with black wings threw out another doll…this time it read ‘Watch. Put us down.’ Saki sat them down on the grass and a moment later they grew to human size. The doll giggled and was gone like the first one. The one with black wings threw another doll, and the doll said that her name was Naranai. It giggled and popped. The one with deep green wings tossed yet another doll and it read that her name was Fue. The doll giggled and it also popped.

“Can’t you talk like normal people?” asked Arcose, his voice sounded annoyed.

Fue and Naranai shook their heads and both of them tossed a huge doll this time that explained their situation. It read:

‘A vampire over-ruled our kingdom and took our voices. In return, he gave us these voodoo dolls. Only then may we talk. Since that night, we’ve been searching for someone to help us. An evil thing that walks like a human, but acts like a beast in a female form kidnapped our prince and we’ve been looking for someone to help us save him.’

The voodoo doll giggled and popped. Wind gushed out and Saki covered her eyes with her right arm. When the wind stopped Fue took out another doll and it read ‘Can you help us?’ It giggled and popped. Saki sighed and looked over at Arcose, who was saying nothing. She shook her head yes and Fue and Naranai rejoiced and hugged one another. The vampire they mentioned could only be one person…and that would be Nite
