not entirely true. if you remember studying about WW1 that war helped us get out of the depression b/c it created jobs thus helping the economy for a short period of time.

ur right on that but back then there were not many ppl plus stuff were cheaper back then and war opened up new doors for job.........now everything is way up and our salary is to low to maintain a family.

I kinda agree with the video, but it would be hard to see how a republic can ever truly stay as a republic. When the majority is happy, they will always turn a blind eye to changes in government, if the greedy elite behind it are careful enough about how they present it. Before people can say anything about it, the transition is made (does anyone know the moment the republic of the USA became a democracy?) and the cycle continues. It's always a cycle as well. Oligarchy -> Anarchy -> Democracy -> Oligarchy.

It's kind of interesting, how the government was actually set up to run perfectly by the Constitution, with helpful little pieces of advice *cough* Washington's Farewell Address *cough* to point the people in the right direction. Yet, situations such as the elastic clause and the nullification crisis during Andrew Jackson's presidency shows that the Constitution wasn't build perfectly, just decently enough to complete the mission as a guiding tool for democracy. Yet, this presumes that the world is perfect, and it's not; since three main problems exist in the human mind:

1.) avarice
2.) assumption
and 3.) overexertion.

Let me explain each: for the first one, the avarice of the American industries during the age of imperialism achieve us destroying a portion of our credibility and made us seems like hypocrites by taking over the Phillipines and forcing our "superior" culture on them (kind of similar to the relation we had with Britain before the Revolutionary War). For the second, we followed this scheme, similar to the what we're doing by following the obviously flawed to the point of being almost useless Stimulus package (that's a rant for another thread though), assuming that everything will go alright. Yes, everything did go alright, seeing as we entered WWI because of the plethora of treaties that we signed to protect our newly acquired territories, doh. And for the third, kind of a mixture of the previous two.

Now, what did this seemingly useless and irrevelant expatiation have anything to do with the true form of the American government? The true form of government isn't in the hands of the people, it is in the hands of those who manipulate these three flaws and use them to their advantage to achieve their ends at the expense of the people. Using the guise of foreign affairs which we were unwise to find ourselves in and economic situations that were easily preventable, they achieve the greatest levels of government to push their semi-socialist agendas down the American public's throats. Thus, because of the assumption of much of the American public that the government's there to baby-sit them, thus overexterting their rights, trashing the Constitution to falsely satisfy the insatiable avarice of human-kind, has completely closed off the idealistic form of government, thus showing a true face of what most democracies become. A pit full of avarice, corruption, and the few good souls still struggling to fulfill their campaign promises with minuscule success.

Sorry if this rant in the guise of an essay bored you, angered you, made you upset, and/or confused as hell. Also, if this was too long a post for this forum, please tell me, as this is my first post.... so don't be too hard on me alright? Also, one last thing, please tell me if you think my theory's a load of BS and you're able to easily refute it (aka with most accurate facts). As this is the only way that one can truly educate themselves in my opinion. Thanks again, and I'll be posting more crummy rantathons in the future....
