Why would it need to be global? Why can't small groups be the start?
Just get the idea to a few, some will consider it on it's merits some will
dismiss it an illogical. Can you imagine trying to convince people that the sun rotates around the earth? they will dismiss it as illogical and you may end up locked up in with headcases and crazies.
But try to convince people of the opposite 1000 years ago and you could get the same result.
