Chapter 6: Where we stand
She padded out slowly to the kitchen. It had been a month since the test. Deidara and Sasori were away on a mission, and Tobi was nowhere to be found. She was hungry, and decided she'd see what they had for her to work with. A swish of fabric caught her attention, and she froze. "Ello girlie.." a pale arm was slung around her shoulder.
Suppressing a shriek, she answered back. "Ello Hidan.." He was covered in blood again. Probably due to lack of sacrifices. He hadn't been on many missions lately. All the same, the sight of the liquid made her sick to her stomach. He'd soon found that out, and quickly teased her as often as possible. Only a lick to her neck, drew her out of her thoughts. "W- what are you doing?" she stammered.
"Mm.." he licked his lips. "Nothing." he said finally, after a long pause, and moved his arm back to his side. "I know you don't like blood, so I got it off your neck." He motioned to the drop near his mouth, before wiping it away.
"Uh..thanks.." she blinked her surprise.
"Where are you going?" he raised his brow.
"To the kitchen."
"To cook?" she rolled her eyes, and started walking again. He sighed heavily, but jogged after her. He watched from the doorway, as she took out the ingredients, before speaking again.
"What are you making?"
"Why, you hungry?"
"Er..Yes." he nodded.
She blinked for a moment, then laughed. "Want me to make you some, when I make mine?"
"That would be the general Idea." he shrugged. She laughed again, and made them both beef with rice, and broccoli in a sauce. She set down the plate before him, handed him chopsticks, and started to eat her own. "What is this?" he held up one of the offending vegetables.
"Broccoli. It's good for you."
"I don't want what's good for me." he snorted.
"Just try it!"
"No!" She snatched the brocolli and shoved it down his throat, causing him to sputter and choke. He chewed for a long while, and swallowed, before he could speak again. "Damn sadistic bitch.." he muttered. She chuckled.
"Well?" she asked.
"It's fine." he glared.
"Told ya." she laughed.
"So how far are you?" he asked.
It was her turn to nearly choke then."W - What?"
"With your pregnancy."
Her hand instinctly went to her stomach. She sighed, rubbing it absent - mindedly. "Five months."
"It shows." he nodded towards her belly.
"It's supposed to." she giggled.
"You've really had two before?"
"Yes.." she was quieter.
"You miss them?"
"Of course?" he raised his brow.
"Their my sons, and my family. I miss them terribly!"
"How young are they?"
"How young is pretty young?"
"Under eight years old."
"Yeah.." she sighed.
"Is he letting you keep it?" he tilted his head to the side. She stared at him, confused as to the sudden interest in it.
"I don't know." she replied honestly.
