Chapter 5: To Be Known
Stepping back out, she squeaked, as she collided with the solid wall of a body. Looking up, her eyes widened. She jumped back, bowing low, and apologising quickly. A low chuckle came from the figure. "Your starting to make a habit of this.." he said in the same low monotone. His rust colored eyes, holding a spark of amusement.
"S-Sasori - sama.." she sighed, flushing embarrassed.
"At least you are respectful," he chuckled.
"Hm?" He glanced at her. "Ah, so he's testing you after all?"
"I see." She sighed, only tensing a little, when he patted her on the head. "Relax. You'll do fine."
"Arigato.." she nodded.
"Good girl." He moved his hand away.
"Tobi is a good boy." He stared at her a moment, before smirking knowingly.
"Proof you are his friend, perhaps?"
"Only he's just as capable as being bad as good." she laughed.
"And you're not?"
"Ah..." she groaned, shutting her mouth. "Point taken."
"Here we are."
"Huh?" she looked at him, and realized they were outside.
"You get distracted very easily."
"Makes for some interesting conversations though."
"True enough." he chuckled.
"Why are we outside?"
"For your test," a rather tired voice spoke. Turning around, she spotted the figure of the Uchiha prodigy, and groaned, at the reminder of what she must do.
"What's the test then?" she asked, shrugging off her nervousness.
"Deidara's form of art, is far too destructive, for it." Sasori stated plainly, as he matched the Uchiha's intense gaze with one of his own.
"What is she to do?"
"Your task.." was all Itachi said, his face, showing no emotion. A trap sprung up from the ground, suddenly. Her eyes widened in horror, as Sasori's entire person, was stabbed by many thin, rod - like, spikes. One decided to ram itself, through the center of his heart chamber. His eyes went round in slight shock, even as the light began to fade from them.
"H-ha..." he gasped.
"Sasori!" she called, and began carefully picking her way over to him. Ducking, and spinning through the maze of spikes, she finally reached her goal. She gripped the spike on his heart chamber, as he groaned in pain. Pulling it out slowly, while letting the blue glow of chakra, spread from her hand to the wound. Tossing the spike aside, she placed both hands over the chamber. Slowly fixing the damage, and closing up the hole. Her glow became silver, as she finished it, by reforming his seal. He smirked slightly, as his chakra slowly began to flow through his body once more.
"Well?" the shadowed form of the leader, appeared beside the Uchiha.
"She passed." Sasori's gaze narrowed on the former prodigy, but he said nothing more.
"Do not take using a fellow member lightly, Itachi." the leader spoke calmly, and he gave a brief nod, before flickering away.
"Follow me." Sasori nodded once, and she hurried after his moving form. He led her through the maze of halls, and back to their room.
"How was it, hm?" Deidara asked, upon seeing them walk in.
"What was the test?" A glare silenced that question.
"Uh..well...did she pass?" Tobi tried instead.
"Yes." He gave a nod at that.
"Yay!" the masked man cheered, and she smiled.
