Chapter 4 - This is my Life
Tobi has burst, loud and uncontrollable as ever, and hurrying over to her. He even jumped on the bed, calling her name over and over, before asking Deidara why she wasn't waking up. "She's..probably extausted, un," Deidara said, shaking his head. Tobi sighed, before looking over her sleeping form. He picked her up slowly, and moved her over to his bed instead. "What do you think your doing, un?" He asked.
"You need your bed back, and besides, i wanna be there, when she wakes up!" Tobi shook his head slowly, before tucking in the blankets around her carefully. His partners watched in silence, and unspoken praise. Neither really understood the masked man, nor why this girl was such a close friend with him. Laying down, beside her, he absent - mindedly, brushed a stray piece of hair out of her face. Staring at her long and hard, before finally going asleep.
o---o---o
He woke, once more, upon hearing a scream. Jumping up, he saw, she was covered in a cold sweat, and that her face was twinged with pain. She bit her lower lip, and started to calm down, realizing it was him, that was beside her. "Kara -chan...?" he whispered, hesitating a little.
She looked at him then.
"I'm...o..kay, Tobi," she said softly. Wiping away her tears, she shook her head. Sliding her feet over the side, she looked around the room. Noting quietly it was already getting light outside, she realized the others, were up as well. "I'm sorry..." she mumbled, thinking her scream had woken them up, same as the first.
Pulling on his cloak, before glancing over, Deidara shook his head. "We were already up," he insisted. "It's your turn for the shower, hmph." He smirked a bit. "We'll have Danna's puppet bring in the clothes, when your ready, un."
Laughing at that, she gladly took the towels, and stepped into the bathroom. Locking the door behind her, she stepped in, finding the water, was nice and warm. Sighing softly, she rubbed her belly, before washing off. Letting the flow run over the top of her head, to drown out the sound some, she began to sing:
"I tried to kill the pain, you helped me to,
you helped me to live to my heart's content,
But now my heart is dying,
My body is letting go of life,
I'll never forget you..
"I hear you call my name, but it's too late,
Time was never mine to give,
Life was never yours to give,
But you never gave up on me..
I love you.."
Squeaking the knob, till it turned off, she peeked her head out from around the curtain. Wrapping up tightly in a towel, she made sure she didn't drip, as she opened the door to the room. "Could I have some clothes, please?" her cheeks flushed, as the men stared, shock on their faces. Well, Tobi had run out of the room, looking for a 'Konan-san' for some reason; Sasori had only turned his gaze away. But Deidara's face had gone red, and he squeaked, hurrying to grab a small pile of clothes. Handing them to her, he grumbled, as she went back, and closed the door.'
Laughing slightly, she finished drying off; she relieved to see that they had managed to get her some woman's clothes. Though she had to wonder from where...or who. She slipped on the black knee-length pants, before, frowning upon sight of a cloak. "Must have been a mistake," she mumbled, pulling the top down over her head. She walked back out, pulling up her hair halfway, and tying the bun with a throng.
"Why didn't you put it on, Kara-chan?"
"Hm?" she looked over at the blonde.
"You have to wear the cloak now, un."
Blinking rapidly, she stared at the red cloud for awhile; fingering, the smooth cloth in her fingers. She bit her lower lip, realizing this was real, and she might have to betray everyone she ever trusted. Shaking her head, as Deidara watched her, she thought about them both. No matter if your part of the Akatsuki, even evil, can still have good. She slid it on finally, only to have it reach down to her ankles.
"Uh...oops," Deidara said, chuckling. "I suppose my cloaks won't work, hm."
"I can sew them shorter," she laughed.
"If you say so, un." He shook his head. "Well, Pein-sama wanted to see you." He led her all the way, to the doors, before telling her to go ahead in. Nodding, she thanked him, and knocked, before opening the fortress, like doors, with some effort. Walking over, she waiting in front of the desk, bowing to the orange -haired man, waiting on the other side.
"Well? You wanted to speak to me alone didn't you?" He huffed, impatiently.
"A-ano...well...I'm..p-pregnant.." she mentally cursed for stuttering.
"I see.."
"mm..." She bit her lower lip nervously.
"This is not your first, correct?" he spoke up, in a low voice.
"Uh..um..no. it's not." she nodded.
"How many have you had?"
"Two.."
"Together, or seperate?"
"Seperate."
"How old are they?"
"Errr..."
"Yes?" he asked.
"The oldest is four, the younger boy, is two," she sighed.
"You wanted to know, what will happen once the baby is born. Is that right?" He raised his brow slightly.
"Y-yes.."
"Since having a child, obviously never interfered with your medic abilities, there is no problem."
"Does that mean..?"
"We'll worry about that after." She could only nod. "Now then, you have your test, to prove your skills are real." She looked at him then. "Go find Itachi. He'll be watching over the whole procedure."
"Dismissed."
