Haven't heard of most of those bands, Demon. :( Certain areas of my metal exposure are deficient, as yet--I went in other directions, but I'd certainly like to broaden my knowledge, and your list might be a good place to start!

By "video game metal," can I assume you mean bands like Dragonforce? They're pretty sweet, but once you've heard two or three good songs you've heard their whole album. Granted, I've only heard one album of theirs (Inhuman Rampage was it?), but I think my point remains. Any others you know of, Demon?

As far as hard/metal stuff goes, I love bands like As I Lay Dying and August Burns Red. Oh, Sleeper, as well as Blessthefall, are also great. Bring Me The Horizon is good. One band you mentioned, Arch Enemy, is solid, but I prefer -->this band<--. Bullet For My Valentine is always a fun time too.

I listen to a fair amount of hardcore/screamo stuff, but I wouldn't put it all into the "metal" category. The above names are good samples, though.

And sometimes, the indy or lesser-known stuff is where the great music is at, Demon. /hi5 I love going on Myspace and finding less popular bands, kids just starting out, who can rock it in their own unique and throat-shredding ways. Like these guys. Or these dudes. This band also has some talent.

Makes me happy. ^_^
