When you issue a challenge to any of your fellow GFX artists to participate in a small competition, what ensues is referred to as a "battle".
So for instance you could create a new thread stating that you are requesting a GFX battle with 2 possible participants. You can either leave the second spot open to anyone who would like to join or ask that a specific user join the battle, like say Gogo for instance. You may also host a competition with multiple spots open for possible entrants. (i.e. 4 entrants)
You'll want to create the thread as a poll though so that other users have the opportunity to cast a vote for the piece that looks best in their opinion.
