A real rain

In the spirit of upcoming elections, and inspired by having watched taxi driver the other night, I'd like to put forth a simple question with a complicated answer. If in the position of the President, Prime Minister, chief official, etc. what would you do to rid the problems of your country? What is it that is cause for the problems your country faces?
It seems easy to stand behind someone else's policies. To back someone else's full belief because it's...similar to your own. But I can imagine that even the most die hard democrat/republican has issues with their party leader's agenda somewhere along the lines. Essentially, I'd like to see where the common ground lies, and hopefully push aside the left wing right wing thing to see what truly problems society.
Please avoid turning this into a debate about obama and mccain, because it's not about them, it's about you.

Well tis a difficult question this one is only cause I know that to get to that seat of power, in this time of age, you have to give up more then just a few morals and principles. So most likely by the time I get into a posistion of power it won't be mine to do with. I'll just be a face for the public, someone for all the blame to go to whether its good or bad.

Now lets just say that the political field wasn't corrupt and filled with big corporate money and evil rich people with bad agendas. If we lived in this Utopian world and I became the leader of it, my main goal would be to relax and watch it roll by. Why? Because its a Utopian world that's why. In the world we live in today, I don't believe a single politicianm, government leader, hell even my city council members and to become one is to become the very evil I strive to ignore.

So seeing as how this is the way I see it, if I were to become a leader of that caliber I would instantly hang myself with a note saying, "I did this because this is a lost cause."

while true that challenge of creating a utopian society is rather futile, it is still possible to do something better with what we have. From a hypothetical standpoint, there's any number of changes or advancements that could be made. Perhaps eliminating the corruption that exists withing politics is a good place to start, but what else. or, what is there that could logically be done. Something that's within our grasp but it's perhaps been pushed aside. even if it's something small, or the greatest of leaps so long as it's a step forward. you may not make the best world, but could you make it better?

Politics do not work without money, power and support. If you take that away, even if it is bad, the politics loses its purpose, its drive. To find someone willing to just take on the job of governing a people with nothing but will power and good will is like finding a grain of sand in a beach thats larger then the size of Jupiter. People are picky, annoying and flat out dumb, especially in the masses and it would take a Jesus like figure to be able to do the job without going insane. Even if the majority of the leaders today started out wanting to actually help out people, eventually, down the line, they get corrupted and instead of trying to help people they rob them. If anything I would go for pure anarchism only cause it the best one out there, the only problem with that is the individual has to be able to care for themselves, and we all know that people are weak and would rather get free help then strive to live for themselves.

Lets be honest here.. if we, better yet I, were to be elected, there would be so many issues that i myself don't really understand and inspite of that, i would push for what i believe is right.. still my answers may not suit alot of people, even more so, what i believe should be done may not be the correct way to go about it. This goes for any situation! Though i don't base my beliefs and complete trust on a total stranger and am not a democrat or republican nor am i an Independent.. The real answer to this is how or what we get done.. whoever it may be and what they promise is the real problem.. I like for a change to see someone do something for once.. am sorry i don't have an complete answer for this basic question, but i would still try!
