lets talk pot

First let me say, I do not use marijuana, I do not encourage the use of marijuana. But I don't see why nonviolent voluntary interactions between people should result in prison for the parties involved.

Questions to consider.

1, Is the use of marijuana morally wrong in general?

2. Is the use of marijuana morally wrong because statutes and ordinances say it is unlawful to posses it?

3. Would America erupt into a lawless waist land if marijuana was decriminalized tomorrow?(ever been to Amsterdam?)

4. Does the use of marijuana hurt more people yearly than alcohol(remember prohibition)?

5. Does the use of marijuana kill more people yearly than officers(and SWAT) doing drug raids?

6. Do you believe that people should be put in danger of being killed when they have injured or potentially injured anyone?

As for the criminal element of marijuana, cracking down on the selling of marijuana raises the profits of the remaining sellers, with high profits more people want to get in on the profits so they start selling witch begins turf wars between sellers trying to maintain a monopoly with artificially high profit levels.

So decrease supply, then the relative demand of the supply on the market goes up. demand goes up, profits go up. more profit, more people trying to make a profit.

7. What do you fear? The Game?

8. should any goods or services be provided to customers at the barrel of a gun?
I want people out there to answer a few of these questions.
I also will be fine with people calling me a hippie for posting this, I kinda expect it.

1, Is the use of marijuana morally wrong in general?
well, i dont really mind if im honest. as long as its not me who's using it. i have friends who do often, but it doesnt bother me, i dont judge them.

2. Is the use of marijuana morally wrong because statutes and ordinances say it is unlawful to posses it?
well, its an interesting question.. but to me, i only think its wrong because of its damaging effects on health.

3. Would America erupt into a lawless waist land if marijuana was decriminalized tomorrow?(ever been to Amsterdam?)
Probably! :L lol no offence to the americans! :3

4. Does the use of marijuana hurt more people yearly than alcohol(remember prohibition)?
i dont know the answer to this one, i remember hearing about it in the news, but i cant remember.

5. Does the use of marijuana kill more people yearly than officers(and SWAT) doing drug raids?
again an interesting view point... it really makes me think...

6. Do you believe that people should be put in danger of being killed when they have injured or potentially injured anyone?
i do believe however that if you kill someone you too should pay with your life. "an eye for an eye" as stated by the Bible, so with that in mind, if you hurt someone, yeah, you too should be hurt back, in the same way.

ive come to notice, that all your interests lie in very deep, political and contraversial issues, Fazenda.
what is it that do you do for a living?
or where do these interests come from?
lol

I don't mind if you're honest either, I encourage blunt truthful honest answers.

This part of the question is in here because when Hitler wrote the law, he broke no laws.

when I mean morally wrong I don't mean health wise, such as I don't think it is morally wrong to eat Burger King food, but I do see it as morally wrong for Burger king to sell food known to be unhealthy. as for damaging health effects from marijuana, they only show up in the people who use it, and their children. but those effects are from the person who chose to use it, and they could have chosen to use other things that are legal that have similar effects(like certain medications)

I don't know the numbers either, I just know on this subject, crashes as a result of drunk driving is on the news more frequently than pot related injuries, and as for the prohibition thing, every time I think the word, this picture appears in my mind that seems more like an add for alcohol shows up.

this was actually A typo I didn't notice my mistake until I read your answer.
6. Do you believe that people should be put in danger of being killed when they haven't injured or potentially injured anyone?

Controversial issues yeah, but if we didn't question things, The world would still be flat.

I don't actually work yet, I am 19 and am in school at gateway(technical college)
The reason my posts are generally on similar topics is because I am trying to get this site to be more populated again and this type of thing is what I think I am best at for continuing an educated conversation in. Also these types of topics tend to spark heated debates IMOP
The reason I started this thread about marijuana is because I saw this youtube video and thought "hay I don't care if people I will never meet think I am some drugged up dumb airhead because of a marijuana thread"

YouTube - Jury Refuses to Convict Anyone for Marijuana Possession!

as for where some of my interests come from, I listen to a radio program that I find funny yet educational, here is an example of a broadcasted episode.(it begins with a joke)

ahhh... i understand lol i myself am only 16 and i have an interest in these types of topics too you see. i like to log on and have a chance at an educated and controversial discussion lol (youre good for that :L)

i watched the youtube clip, how interesting lol i can just see that reporter going off set after it was filmed, and going and smoking a joint :L
makes in seem really unfair. this man has a good way of getting his point across however.

as a person im against doing drugs or drinking, and ive never tried either.
so perhaps my views are somewhat biased, but that was what i thought.

and as for the answer to number 6 (now that its been corrected) no, i do not think that its fair. the change in question is now the very opposite of what i think.

I'm not against the use of alcohol or certain other drugs if done responsibly, like doing it in your own home(or a friend's) and not leaving home until the effects have fully worn off.

I know my threads are a bit controversial but I am very annoyed nobody is posting to disagree with me. I personally don't think I'm the type of person who would start raging because someone disagrees with me. When I post, I try to do it in a way that doesn't use shock or gore to get my point across to people. in the original post I chose pictures that seemed to me to be neutral but nobody(even the few very semi-inactive members who occasionally log in) seems to want to make a post contradicting me.

I don't know if you noticed, but at the end of my previous post I added a link to a radio show I listen to.
