Subtitles or closed captions for the Deaf?

Hello Everyone,

I'm an anime lover, and love watching anime movies, episodes. Currently, I'm catching up on Blassrieter after watching D-Gray Man. I am also a deaf woman who loves anime. It's getting harder and harder to find really good anime movies or episodes that have subtitles or closed captions for the deaf or hard of hearing people.

I have noticed that there is a huge list of great anime movies, but is there any way to tell if they are subtitled or closed captions. I know this would be great for many of my deaf friends who are also anime lovers. Majority of us left Netflix because of their lack of captioning on anime movies. Full Metal Alchemist, to this day, is still not captioned via streaming online! Argghhhh!!!!

Your help is most appreciated, and I know that many of us deaf people kindly thank you in advance.

Thanks. :eyes:

wow, thats incredible. :)
hmmm... im not sure i know what you mean though. most animes are always english subbed anyway, site like this one always have the subtitled versions.
you can try:
anime-sub.com
or animefreak.tv (which usually has an option on weather you want to watch in subtitled or dubbed)

hope this helps :S

From the ones I watch, they usually say that they are subbed or have cc on them before you start the anime. Sometimes, you might get lucky and if the system is on to start the close caption on your T.V. or Computer, it will show up. But most animes haven't been dubbed into eng. or another foreign languages.

You can try anime Gogo for subtitles. Impressed

I'm not 100% capable of producing anything that might help or be something of value regarding the thread, but i gotta say that, no matter how drunk i might be..I gotta give credit for still being able to enjoy stuff while being deaf. I know for some people with some sort of disability it's really road downhill, so i'll just put out my honest admiration for you!
I hope you keep fighting and emerge victorious in the end, or even better- emerge victorious in really near future^^
So don't mind my dumbness too much tonight, and have most of your life!

As with rock I too admire people overcome challenges such as yours.
I believe people take everyday ease of life for granted and it becomes quite annoying.

All I can say is MOST anime's are at least subbed, I've ran into very few that aren't.
most sites, have both subbed and dubbed, if for whatever reason you can't find a anime, you'd like to watch subbed, send me a pm I'd be more the glad to find it for you.
