You take the beating
You take the hurting
You take the loneliness
Hold me and let the whip crack against your back
Protect me from the rain and cold
Hide the truth
Hide the burden
Staying with me but always watching from outside the horizon
Be my shelter
Holding my heart
Keep it beating, While yours dies
Guarded and treasured
agony and loathed
While keeping me out of your head
You keep me close to your heart
Stop shielding me! Why can't you just let me see, stop blinding me
You think your hiding so well, but I know....
And while your shielding me from pain
The look on your face pains me more than any beating, insult, secret
That you could ever take for me
You thought you were shielding me
You were only shielding yourself from me

this one is good, there are lots of people who do this, the next step is never good, hiding behind a stone face not letting anyone close to the point where you dont have anyone, anymore

these actions are the beginning of distancing yourself from a social life, i would know since this almost happened to me
