Dragon Age: Origins

Since this game has been out for a couple of weeks and no one seems to have written about it. I felt that it was due for a good talking. Dragon Age: Origins by Bioware the same group that brought you mass effect. As you will learn from lore the era is named after a great event. Even though this game is called Dragon Age it just means the reemergence of dragons. Like mass effect there is dialogue and the way you interact with the npcs effects how the rest of the world and your companions treat you. Anyways for you not knowing what this game is about here it is
There is a Blight of evil that threatens to kill everyone. Thus the group known as the Grey Wardens who are the only ones who can defeat the Archdemon (it s a big dragon) anyways as a grey warden you are sent to create a army form the elf/dwarf/human/and mages. mages are a category since they are no particular race and they have their own duties
The pc (you) can be of different class/race
Human Noble (Rogue or warrior)
Human Mage
Elf Mage
Elf Commoner (Rogue or Warrior)
Dalish Elf ( Rogue or warrior)
Dwarf Noble (Warrior or Rogue)
Dwarf Commoner (Rogue or Warrior)
Each group has their own back story that will eventually lead to the Grey Wardens and for the most part all back stories will eventually mix together.
Like Mass Effect you have a 4 man party and of course depending on what gender you are you can start a romance that can lead to more
Morrigan Shapeshifter Mage
Wynn Spirit Healer Mage
Leilan Bard Rogue
Zavaian Assassin Rogue
Sten Warrior
Ohgren Berserker Warrior
Alistar Templar Warrior
Mabari wardog
As the trailer says not every hero is pure it is the truth. Each character including yourself has their own past that makes them considered outcasts or tormented people
Mix and match to make a great combo team

So essentially this thread that i created was for the purpose to shine the spotlight of a game that was shadowed with the coming out of Modern warfare, if you play this game we can chat about, strats tricks ect ect what ever you want
or if ya just want to say i wasted 2 mins of your life posting this what ever

it should stay shadowed, i am terribly disappointed in that game, its terrible, maybe it would have been good on pc or a console 8 years ago, but thats it! dragon age, even though it has a name that makes it seem worth the buy, isnt worth it, maybe a game for people who are just interested in achievements

...that is all

I enjoyed the 20 minutes I played it...

Playing at a friends house when everyone is passed out drunk....

Never any fun. Ever....

Oh, come now. I believe a comment like this warrants some explanation. :)

to me the battle sytem they used is outdated, i see a guy going to attack me i run away getting distance between us, he hits air and still does damage to me!

i understand its a vast world kinda game but they could have done more int he graphics area, it looks like it was supposed to be for pc

when you run around, everything is choppy and really uninviting to want to play more!

the only thing that seemed sorta interesting was the storyline, the game just seemed like it could have stayed with the designers for a few more months, maybe even a year to make it a good game

I'm intersted. I think I'll get it in a few days.

krazykandy 11-19-2009 04:26 AM

Alright I will admit that the way graphics are set in battle are prob more leaned towards the PC
I have to stay with teh fact that the storyline was worth the money
regardless i personally feel that it shouldnt stayed shadowed.
it could just mean that you are used to more hardcore graphic oriented games, but for the general concept of the game it was a pleasure playing
