I've been fond of the series, but I haven't been able to get into the series much due to a lack in gaming equipment. My first (and only) game console was a PS1 that I got 5 years ago as a birthday present which was after Sony stopped supporting the system for their games. Other than that I've had some computers to game on, but none with any really good hardware so I had to stick to really old games.
My first RE game was RE Survivor for my PS1. I like the game, but I don't do well on a PS1 for FPS games. I love the whole mix&match setup they had though. like 3 different monster configurations, 3 paths at start followed by 3 more paths, another 2 paths before hitting Umbrella Corp, another 2 paths on the way to the mountain facility, overall that made for 108 different potential experiences. Unfortunately the differences were usually not that big.
The 2nd RE game I got was RE4 last Christmas. I liked the whole merchant thing with upgradable weapons. After a few weeks I beat the game on normal and unlocked the tommy gun. I couldn't beat the Assignment Ada mission where you go after the samples because Krauser was too tough for me to beat, and I couldn't fare too well in the constant onslaught of enemies in mercenaries mode.
I've heard so much bitching about RE5 being racist. Some shit about the virus plaguing an african village and the whole game being a white guy killing black guys. People seriously need to get over this whole "racism" thing. You have Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas where a black guy can go on a rampage killing dozens of white guys and that's just fine, but God help you if you make a game where whites kill blacks.
