Making a manga , need ideas

Well my mom loves art and I randomly suggested , " lets make a manga" and thought she would say like, "no I dont have time", or "that sounds boring" but she said "sure, I just have to adjust to drawing manga and you need a plot/story for me" I was suprised and took here answer seriously so, here is the "Thinking box" for a good, not too long, not too bloody, ecchi, or too much romance filled manga, adventure, drama or comedy would be just fine for her drawing skills ^^

So any Ideas/suggestions?

First off, I would start with defining the genre...
Do you want it to be a fantasy? slice of life? supernatural? mecha? etc.
Next step would be creating the characters. Do you want it to have just one main character or a group of "heroes"?
Not to mention the story line.. eh.
Ohhh, I can tell it's going to be a lot of work... that's for sure.

Well, how about doing a manga based on an anime? Like get one you like and your mom likes the idea of and use the same concept but make your own story and characters

Its a lot funner to come up with an original story.
I suggest you do an adventure/magic manga. I'm not a big fan of magic myself but it might be a good start.
Also, make sure each character has his/her unique look and personality (makes things more interesting).

EDIT: and she is afraid of her 'friend' but does not want to tell her and is too scared to ask help and the friend asks her to help her one day. Very original i just farted that out my brain :P

Nope. Jealous much? xP That came striaght from my mind in my murder anime that i watch the people just so 'happen' to kill somebody. i am talking about a serial murderer.

continuing from that: the girl -whatever her name is i don't care- moves to -i still don't care- town/village/city/country and stays by another girls home -serial killer girl i.e- and has every class with her except P.E. That should make the story interesting ;)

That's good! Go with adventure in medival times. Make sure the main chara has a scythe!
