I'd have to say Evangelion.
I could never get into the Gundam series for some reason. :p

Evangelion confused the hell out of me (And I probably only watched about half the episodes).

Eureka 7 probably doesn't come close enough to being considered a mech anime, so I have to go with the only gundam series I've seen, G Gundam.

Im not really a huge fan of mech anime, but i have watched several and out of those, these i like best no real order :dance:

1. Blue Gender
2. Gundam
3. Eureka Seven
4. Gunbuster/diebuster
5. NGE
6. Rahxephon
7. Full Metal Panic series
8. Gurren lagann (This one is one of my favs regardless of mechs) ::D:

Definitely Neon Genesis Evangelion. It may seem overly complicated at first glance, but if you really pay attention and watch "The End of Evangelion" as well as the whole main series, it's an extremely intriguing anime.

As for any other mecha anime...well the only other one I really enjoyed was Big O.
