What kinda thread is this? The Beatles and Ozzy make two completely different kinds of music... (The Beatles being softer and Ozzy being more... Rockish). Both are good, so I choose both.

If that's the case, then I have two other things to say. First, you should have named it better -- something more like "Which is better: Rock or 'Soft Rock' " instead of comparing two different groups. And second, there is no better of the two, everyone has their own preferences.

I'm not sure about this question. Both are considered greats but in different times. The Beatles is the original rock band and an icon in music history. Ozzie is the Prince of Darkness(with the exception of the Lich King*lame WoW commercial reference*) whose music spawned a whole generation of misfits, lawbreakers and mongrels, but The Beatles wipe the floor with Ozzie when you consider the impact each had on Earth. I mean, have you seen the vid clips of The Beatles in Japan?? The women were trying to kill them, they were so freaken fan CRAZY the likes which hasn't been seen until Beckham during his height of soccer stardom. It's an unfair question, shoulda been something like Beatles vs Elivs or Ozzie vs Iron Maiden.

Anyway, this question is a no-brainer for me. The Beatles. They were far more resonant, memorable, talented, and diverse than Ozzy ever was. And unlike Ozzy, The Beatles never got worse. They got better. And what's more...they never had a low point. Later, when they started experimenting, they even proved that they were the best (or at least one of the best) at any genre they attempted. It's unthinkable that any four people can somehow triumph in any sub-genre of rock or pop. Hell, they even crossed into Bob Dylan's territory and did it well (they're the only ones other than Bob Dylan that could do this). You've got two astounding songwriters, one great one, and one that never realized his full potential (Ringo, with "Octopus's Garden"). Ringo is one of the best drummers that ever hit rock music, and even Paul was pretty decent at a drumset when he had to be. And when it comes to bassists, Paul is one of the best...and John's not too bad either. But then...oh yes, then, the guitar. Paul, John, and George all played the guitar marvelously, whether it was memorable guitar licks serving as riffage (Day Tripper, I Feel Fine, She Said She Said) or complicated arrangements (Yesterday, Blackbird, Girl).

Ozzy, on the other hand, was mostly finished once Randy Rhoads died. No more "Crazy Train" for you, prince of darkness! He should've stayed with Black Sabbath where he belonged. Ozzy's solo career sucks compared to Black Sabbath.

Yes, I'm a huge Beatles fan, but I don't hate Ozzy. I just think that The Beatles are one of the greatest bands that Earth has ever been graced with...but Ozzy's solo career is mostly stale. Note the "mostly"...Randy was one hell of a badass guitarist.

Since beatles and Ozzy booth spawned in UK maybe a choice from the rock scene in the states should be there. And they are from two separate time eras. So...Yeah.

If there were no Beatles, the rock scene would be extremely different...but that's not to say that there would have been no Ozzy. I'd be more worried about Black Sabbath though, considering that they're better than Ozzy's solo career.
