I was reading Japan's news this morning and I came across a very interesting topic. In Tokyo, Japan; instead of using there wallets they are using there Cell phones to buy stuff. There cell phones are acting as there Debit and Credit Cards.. :scaried:Basically what Im saying is that there cell phones are linked to there banking accounts.. :o.o:Now I know, here we are able to check out accounts and do transfers between our accounts on our cell phones, but thats it... To me this is amazing.. THE US needs to stop playing around and get there asses moving!!!

[Your thoughts on this and if there are other Technologies you think we or your country may be behind on.... please share

I don't really see how that's amazing. Just really predictable, if anything. I'd prefer to just keep using a card.

What the hell are you talking about?? A phone as a debit card isn't a convenience, you can't cancel a cell or check the id on it, and it's no longer water proof.

Besides that, Japan has always been ahead of the U.S. in robotics and experimental technology, so stop your whining and move to Japan if you're gonna freak out so much.

As interesting as that seems, a lot of the stuff that sounds awesome over there sometimes goes to crap. For instance, on some cell phones in japan they're equipped with gaming and live tv. sounds sweet but the lag becomes increasingly annoying and you want to chuck your phone in the street.

At least, that's what i heard.:o.o:

that sounds awesome. i still prefer online shopping, though, i bought a welcome to the nhk dvd once, the cover on it was semi-ero, and i couldn't even begin to describe the look people were giving me.

all our tech recourses that belong to private industries are going into besting the competition not inventing shiz. but they recently ran a test and the two most powerful supercomputers in the world are now in the us. and on top of that they both broke a record and a previously thought "impossible" barrier of the petaflop. that means a quadrillion floating point calculations a second. in comparison it would take you several lifetimes just to count to a quadrillion. and our field aint civilian tech. thats why were allies with japan. were more military tech development and science. and of course medical devolopment to kill more people in the long run but i wont get into that

That doesn't bother me at all. Cellphones as debit cards are expected but there are so many consequences to that. That would be the worst thing for anyone to have given the fact that out of 10 people 6 or 7 would lose their cellphones somewhere uncommon. There goes your money; tough break. But the us hasn't really been down ont there technology. As big as japanese are with there techno heads always thinking about the next invention, soon we'd be living in a world were microchips would be our life. Everything would be in that microchip in your body. Without it your no one. So the whole cellphone thing..it really isn't that creative at all. Kind of...sucks.

I'm just waiting for that chip we can insert in our bodies that act as an ID and debit/credit card. Oh what a day that will be and every single christian is going to be screaming apocolypse and the end of days...again...
