Will there always be conflict in the world or will violence finally mellow out in the years to come? Do you think humanity is actually learning from their mistakes in the past? Is it possible people will forever behave like spoiled brats crying/arguing over what the other kid has, because they want it too?

I believe there is a great number of people in the world that happen to be trying to create peace. Unfortunetly, it seems as if, there will always be another group of people who want nothing but violence and unhappiness.

For those who don't know the meaning of Nirvana.

Nirvana - Any place of complete bliss and delight and peace. OR An ideal condition of rest, harmony, stability, or joy.

Here's the thing: If you aren't fighting with another, you're fighting among yourself. Even when we weren't dealing with the British, we were trying to figure out the best way to lead the nation. When we weren't in the middle of a civil war, we were at war in deciding the freedoms that citizens of African decent would be allowed.

I actually believe wholeheartedly that all people desire some form of conflict in their life. Maybe one day i'll write a thesis on it, but for now it's tea time.

I am 100.000% sure than Nirvana doesn't exist. Humans fought, fight, and will fight with oneanother.

two things

1.) a person is smart and peaceful but people as we all know are violent, stupid, disgusting and hypocritical creatures
2.)for there to be something new the old must be destroyed

No I do not thing humanity is learning one bit, as it is humans are only destroying each other even more. If there is to be any type of Nirvana feeling around the world then humanity needs to become one at peace iwth itself and everything around it.

its impossible to achieve nirvana...but if people will stop fighting well maybe der is a possibility to attain peace...having wars n stuff is inevitable in dis world some may be doing good things but mostly evil occurs in dis world...but as d saying goes if ders a will ders a way so if people will just unite but i think it would only last just a small period of time or maybe not...well this world is really complicated...

Fighting in the name of World Peace is like Fucking in the name of Virginity.

It don't make sense, but people will use any excuse to keep fighting.

I believe man as the top of the food-chain naturally has a tendency to fight in order to stay that way; even if it isn't morally correct. This is why bunny rabbits don't rule the world.

However in the midst of it all, do not forget Thomas Edison's quote:

"There will one day spring from the brain of science a machine or force so fearful in its potentialities, so absolutely terrifying, that even man, the fighter, who will dare torture and death in order to inflict torture and death, will be appalled, and so abandon war forever. "

On THAT DAY; perhaps we will finally achieve "Nirvana". But until then...there isn't really a point to ceasing world conflict.

As Einstein once said, "The pioneers of a warless world are the youth that refuse military service."

With growing strains in European and Middle-Eastern countries, I doubt that we'll see an end to war soon. Even then, I'll stress now before I continue that hoping and believing that war will end is not quixotic thinking.

Despite all of our current downsides, countries--or more specifically, mankind in general, is gradually growing a sense of brotherhood and morality. There was a time when one country could conquer another, and thus the rest of the world would deem it fitting since the former was indeed the stronger. But today, actions such as "conquering" or even revolution is looked poorly upon in an international view.

The generations of people being born are being raised into a mixed society. Eventually, a child will be born and not care to notice the difference among black, white, asian, or whatever ethnicity one may classify today. This may seem like a very concentrated interest, but it's a major step towards finding peace on our planet.

The sooner we stop picking apart differences among ourselves, the sooner we stop finding reasons to point guns at each other.

And even if man doesn't find this "inner-peace," in about a hundred years or so, we're going to have to get along to a certain extent for survival. (I'm talking about dwindling resources and bursting populations--both problems that will lead to new colonization. Whether that will be in space or underwater, is too early in technology to tell). After all, even the most belligerent will hold hands with an enemy should it mean saving his or her own (or loved one's) skin.
