Death to a Beauty

[jyuukai]

As the clouds roll by a purple sky
A lone creature catches my eye.
It's large colorful wings are fluttering
As they bring a gentle hope to my heart.
The creature, a butterfly, flies high...
Until it is plucked out of the sky
By a hungry mother bird.
I stare as sadness returns,
"How unfair," I think
"That one must die for another to live"
But that is they way of the world
And it is inevitable...
